I showed each of them how to get behind the rifle, control the rear bag, proper natural point of aim and sent them on their way to do lots of dry firing and work on having a steady sight picture while they break the trigger.
Well, one of them (Corey) came out to angeles this morning.
I bore sighted the gun as best I could and had him fire a 5 round group.
Three of the 5 rounds made a single hole.
The first shot went an inch low.
The 5th shot went just left of the large single hole.

Now keep in mind, these are the first 5 rounds that he has EVER fired from a bolt gun.
They are also the first 5 rounds fired from the gun as it was brand new and unfired before today.
After some 100yd group shooting, we continued on out to 400 and 600yds and were hitting MOAish targets.
So, read the fundementals sticky in this subforum and dry fire at home, a LOT.
Dry firing works.
