Welcome!
30-06 is a great round, but the long action may slow you down if in the future you decide to shoot matches.
Come on out, shoot what you got, and have some fun.

leupold seems to be the general choice for optics but im gonna hold off for a little while on getting a new scope for it. I will be upgrading with a scope that I can easily transfer over to a rem 700 someday so my next set of optics will be the one I decide to shoot a very long time. Also thanks for the warm welcome :)

Umm, no.

Look in the choosing a custom rifle sticky under scopes for better choices.

I'd like to participate on the 22nd. Is it okay that I don't have a bolt rifle? I have an LRB M25 (M1A style) in a JAE stock with a premier heritage scope...is something like this okay?
Thanks.

In order to try and keep the training the same for everyone, these clinics are going to give first preference to bolt gun shooters.
If there's room after all the bolt guns are signed up, then we will let in semi autos.

Where do I sign up for the Course Fire A this January. Just got my bolt action all set up a couple months ago. I'm brand new to all this so I'm definitely in need of some help. Thanks.

I will be at the range tomorrow morning  if anyone is around I should either be on the .22 rimfire range or the 100, 200-300 range with the new 30-06 with my room mate. Stop by and say hey  Probably get on the range by 10 or so leaving auburn around 8:30

Hello all. I have been lurking here for a while. Decided it was time to start posting. I’ve got a Remington 700 BDL in .308 with an IOR 4-14 scope. I don’t seam to see any other wood stock rifles her but I hope it will get me started. If I can get off work I will come and observe or maybe shoot on the 22nd “A course”

Where is the place that is in the picture at the beginning of the thread? That looks like a lot of fun shooting out to 1000 yards. The only place I have been able to shoot around here has been the Angeles range out to 600.

Are there any plans for going to this place any time soon?

OK, new the CAPRC. Looks like I missed the last "A" training session until May. I'm gonna try and show up at the March 13th "Randall's Revenge" competition. Is there a plan to add any more "A" training sessions?

Definitely make it out to the match to at least watch if you can. The next A clinic will probably be around May sometime.

The way it looks now we may only be doing 2 A clinics a year. There will be more then just the C clinic now. Probably more like an E clinic.

Randall,
Very interested in doing one of the "A" clinics. Want to start off on the right foot and not develop any weird shooting issues. When the A clinic is schedualed will it be posted here? Also I am interested in you doing a little work on a Remi 700 bolt. What is the best way to contact you?

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to being an active and contributing member of the community!

Whether you are on the list or not you will still need to sign up when they announce it. Also you can edit your comment so you don't have to keep posting a new list fyi.
