I go to the first smaller lake bed area south of the main lake. Its about 600-700 yards long and is west of and adjascent to Hoffman Road. I don't have a date yet as I was putting this feeler out to check interest....

Would definitely be interested assuming I'm still in the country when plans are made. Ha!
I love anything camping and anything shooting. So camping and shooting? I'm there.

This is NOT the right time of year to go camping/shooting out there.
November through March are best.

That's the truth! But I'll be in Vancouver Nov-March. :(
I guess I'll just have to be content with my trip to Yellowstone and Glacier next week. It's a rough life.

OK so, I have thought of a couple possible weekends and those would be:

Arriving 8/23, leaving 24th
Arriving 8/30, leaving 31st.

Week after that is my anniversary and is obviously a no-go for me.

....Any takers?

Ah Coors.

A memory of my childhood. My dad always had a can next to him. I think most pictures of my dad while growing up there is a Coors can in them.

Trust me Rich, you do not want to serve on a murder trial.... I was called for jury duty and it turned out to be for the death of a young child that was sexually abused and then beaten to death... Just listening to the charges was enough to make several people in the panel gasp.... Turned out I was not picked for the jury, but I could have been out of work for 2 months....

I guess that would suck emotionally if kids are involved in a corpus habeas case.... Well maybe an attempt of murder then.

If you wedge it in some rocks, build a fire under it, then shoot it it will.

Im guessing that a tracer might light it up if the pellet was still tracing when it pokes the hole in the tank.

Pretty sure they did this on mythbusters and they actually were successful in getting the gas to ignite with a tracer.

here are a few photos of a propane tank on a fire that i shot out by the slabs , this was in 2008-2009 ish when i was a sophomore in high school. it was a full tank so we got a pretty good burn out of it, not an explosion but just a rapid release of gas

Well DeepSix, you are the only guy from the board who has RSVP'd thus far. Me and at least 2 of my other friends are going. My other friend with the 338's and 50 is tentatively going, but his work schedule is of an "on call" nature and mildly unpredictable.

I will confirm some RSVP's that are up in the air and update this thread in a couple days

Waitin on some PMs to come back from guys here. Looks like me and you so far from here definitely, your friend, a couple guys I work with.....im gonna bring my standard eclectic mix of "desert guns" which include my 1911's (one in 45 the other in★☆ 40 Super ★☆ ) one of my 12g shotguns, my 10/22T, Schmidt-Rubin K-31, Mosin Nagant 91/30, my so called not so "precision" Savage 10fp 308, a Marlin Camp 9mm Carbine, a Winchester 94 in 375win, and lastly a S&W K frame .22lr 6 shot (a real beauty).

food wise im gonna do my awesome several day tri-tip marinade, some breakfast danishes, and some MRE's (yes I was the one fool that actually liked those) and get about a chord of firewood if someone has an Easy up or knockoff, that would be cool. Otherwise I will bring my not so easy up canopy thing for some shade I will bring a 6' plastic table for which to place spotting scopes I dont have any steel to shoot, a kestrel, rangefinder, chronograph, or any of that shit. I think a 36" square piece of plywood would suffice for range estimation with them there fancy mil-dots ;) .

36" is only 1 mil at 1000yds.

If you want to make more accurate range estimations, take two 2x2's and pound them into the dirt standing straight up.
Paint them red so they are easier to see.
Set the distance between them to 12ft using a tape measure inside 1000yds or 18-24 ft if you get beyond 1000yds.
That will give you a much more precise range measurement using a mildot reticle.
God shoots a Remington 700, drives a Chevy Truck and carries a Glock 19.
I don't do any of those things.
