Will we have mandatory mag changes? I only have one 5 round mag for my rifle right now. if not I'll just single load after my 5 rounds or if we do maybe I can borrow someones AI mag.

I'm glad to see several new shooters sign up. My first match was in june of last year and I haven't missed a match since. I learned so much during my first match. Just competing in our monthly matches will make you a bettter shooter if you learn from your mistakes. Plus it gives you more thing to pratice at the range then just shooting prone. If there are any other new shooters on the fence about shooting their first match I say do it. You don't need a brake or dbm. I shoot my stock rifle with a blind mag, no brake, $300 millet scope, and managed to get second place at the last match. If you can consistantly hold a 1-1.25 moa group you can shoot these matches so bite the bullet and sign up!

Glad to see someone offering up to loan a mag. I will help out too if needed.... You will find out about rules on the day of the match, but I would not worry about it.

I don't have any of them. I think that only brad and Randall have them. But I do have that extra sling that was asked for.

and for those of us that dont have super cool stocks and dont have mags, are we screwed?

Is a sling mandatory? I just ordered my sling today, after not having any luck finding anything I liked local.

Not by any means. I don't have a super cool stock or detatchable magazines and I have no problems shooting our matches. As far as a sling you don't need one to shoot it but it does make positional a hell of a lot easier

Not as much for me as it is for Ho. Ho was playing around with his scopeless rifle this afternoon:

These Swedish-pattern sights are sweet:

I love that AT&T dial on the rear sight. However, the irons are a far cry from having a scope.

Seeing Ho's green AW scopeless like that made me feel bad, so my L96 scope is now on loan to Ho:

I think this is the perfect scope for his rifle:

The green on green is looking good:

Ho even likes the post reticle:

Ok, COF is finalized, targets are printed, steel is placed except for 1 piece. In the AM, I would like to have people stapling up targets, someone to paint the steel, place some targets and take sign ups. I will need 2 range helpers and on the steel stages, if you are not shooting, I will need spotters. I will hold a shooters meeting in the morning somewhere between 0800 and 0810. Line goes hot at 0815. Everybody please try to be on time... Thats 0715 sharp....

The only thing I forgot to print was the Club Renewal Form. Everyone who was a member before should have been PM'd a new one. Please print it out and bring your proof of NRA membership and we will take applications/renewals tomorrow.

Thanks for the fun match today guys! Big congrats to Steve for running his first match in adverse conditions. It was great to see the new guys coming out and having a fun time.

I love the club. I feel that all the people who come together at these matches make the whole thing. I definitely don't feel deprived of any "rights" here.

Those are some neat looking sights.

I had a great time today even though I didn't do that great, but it's better than not showing up at all. Definitely a learning experience. Nice meeting some of you guys, hope to see you again next month.
