Just curious....
I'm pretty competent with a handgun, but never taken a defensive/combat course. Wondering if anyone has used either of these 2 local IE companies, and if they thought it was worth it.
Anyone take a handgun course from FTA or topgun?

I havent used eitherr of those companies, but I have taken Front Sight courses and Internation Tactical Training Semminars (ITTS). I would highly recommend ITTS and they operate out of the Eagles Nest at Angeles....

I've taken a few classes with Solutions Group International out in Prado. Pretty good prices considering ammo is included.

I was offered a free class with solutions group. Honestly it was very basic (defensive pistol 1). It was much better suited for the newbies. IF I had been a newbie it would've been a very valuable. I would be interested in taking their 2nd class just for shits.

James, I took DPC I and II and I agree that the first one is VERY basic.DirtRacer151 wrote:I was offered a free class with solutions group. Honestly it was very basic (defensive pistol 1). The second has much more movement involved and non-conventional shooting positions under stress. I'm considering taking the 3rd series...

Re: Anyone take a handgun course from FTA or topgun?
I just did the CCW two day handgun class with FTA and really enjoyed it. The instructors were very good and I learned a lot about gun handling. I liked it so much I signed up for the carbine class that I will do in October. I have decided to get some training and the FTA programs offer lots of different classes like shotgun and long distance rifle as well as handgun. I think I will try the carbine class and then give the shotgun class a try.
What could be better than spending the day shooting guns and learning how to be a better shooter?
