WEGC-Precision Bolt Rifle Match 9/16 MATCH RESULTS!

Post by Spaniard »

Well what a great day for a shoot and the Man Vs. Man was the bomb, like the NFL playoffs with all the back and forth drama included. We had 24 competitors today battling it out for top shot. There were of course the coulda, woulda, shoulda shots and a few cases of dialback fever. Overall it was a great day, very hectic for me, I need to work up some mega sheets for this crowd. The Multi-Timer was a big help.

Without further rambling, First Place went to Sir John Molloy, what a day. That Man Vs. Man is what took John over the top and put him in first place. You earned it John, what a battle today and in the end you endured and carried it through. Tough run indeed.

Aaron Gifford took second place. Those quiet guys just creep up on you and before you know it wham! Inland Empire Veteran James Jeffries secured 3rd Place. Not a bad day.

Snappy hasn't shot in a long time and managed to shoot both the 100 & 200 Speed Drills Clean. Top .308 went to PBR Rookie Kevin Hwang. Good Job Men and of course young lady Samantha Gonzalez. Keep at it, the winds of fortune change all the time in this game. One more monthly and then the big show, #7 SCPRC.

Good luck to all those going up North to compete at Sac Valley and enjoy.

See you next month, Spaniard

I'm gonna see about loading up some ammo and showing up too.
Seems like I really SHOULD get back in practice if we have a couple bigger matches coming up soon.

Only if you like to preserve your body. I do. NO rear sand bags allowed, however, shooting glove or Shamagh wrapped around your hand is ok. A sand bag can be used under the front of the stock if resting on a barrier, just not in the rear.

We will probably be running a couple squads and will keep those during the man v man shoot off.

Should be a hoot. We will probably be running the Multi Timer as well so we can do team shoots all at once.

Park down below the 500 and walk up and stage your rifles. We will be setting up downrange. Looks like about 20 shooters.

Didn't the last time a certain "someone" took sick leave to shoot a match ended up actually needing sick leave? :P

Mark,

Nice match... Moved quickly despite the crowd. Looking forward to next month and SCPRC.... But can I say it just sucks to be shooter 1.... I screwed up the 2nd stage of the match and if I had more time to think about holdovers for the 155/330 line, I would have gotten more hits as I was dialing between the two...

Hey.. I just realized I came in at the top of the bottom 50%....

Yeah... Ray was not having a good day... I ended up screwing up the 2nd stage... back and forth from a 75 yard 2" shoot n See to the 200 meter line but you were supposed to go from the largest to the smallest target.... I ended up shooting the largest target 2x's and then everybody called out wrong target.... Then I missed the other 2 smaller targets... I also messed up the 200 yard dot drill... only got 2 out of the 5 shots on a 3" target.... Interesting.... Brad ended up cleanning this and the 100 yard dot drill... the only person to do so....

For some reason, I was shooting a 1/2 moa low. I up'd all my dope, but still missed some targets that I shouldn't of....

It was good to be out shooting instead of working a line.....

I was shooting out of my ass the first two stages (nerves). It took me awhile to settle down.

Clearly your god was more powerfull than my god..... :bg:

Forgot to take the dope off after the coldbore and tanked 2nd stage...

3rd stage- dunno how, had a decent group sitting to the right of the paper target... none hit the target- still not sure what happened since I didnt dial any wind, and wind didnt get anyone else..... Wrong holdover for the steel too.--------edit----- had to be parallax- tried to set the focus for 'in between' both distances.-----

Had that malfunction with the man on man against my brother- pull the trigger nothing- no click no nothing..... it was like the safety was on, clicked it to off (it was off- clicked to off anyway again) pull--- nothing.... Aaron still didint fire his first shot.... I'm still in this!!!!

recock the bolt up/down, pull- nothing.... rack the bolt, and somehow get a stove pipe!!! By the time I clear the stove pipe, Aaron got out 2... just threw my hands in the air knowing I'm done- make clear....

Told Aaron what happened afterward- He jokes I was probably pulling the trigger guard- not the trigger- Nope.... not with a DBM conversion- no room for your booger finger to get between the mag and guard....

Oh well.... next month!

Had a ball anyway, and gives me things to think about and practice for the next match.
