Signups start at 7:00am and shooting should start at 8:15am when the line goes hot.
Please arrive at the left side of the Angeles rifle range no later than 7:30am to sign-in and get assigned your shooter numbers.
Your shooters number is also your position on the line so please lineup accordingly.

This will be the 11th match of our 2011 points series.
Details about the points series are here: http://www.caprc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2175" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The match fee also includes use of the range after the match is completed.
We usually try to finish by 1pm.
Bring 50 rounds of match grade ammo.
Be prepared to shoot as close as 10yds and as far as 600yds.
Be prepared to shoot from standing, kneeling, seated, prone and other improvised postions.
Bring a backpack to shoot off of for stages that don't allow a bipod.

This match is open to bolt action and semi-auto rifles from 223 up through 308.
A velocity limit of 3100 fps will be in effect to reduce damage to club-owned steel targets.
Bipods, slings, shooting mats and rear bags are allowed and recommended.
Chamber flags are mandatory and are available from the club if needed.

Does this mean any 30 caliber cartridge is OK subject to the velocity limit?
If not, then specifically what does 308 mean?

Yes, any 30 cal is fine as long as it is under the 3100fps limit.

We did not get out to setup the steel tonight so it will have to be setup tomorrow morning.
We could sure use some extra help around 6:45 or 7am to place all the steel and paper before the 8am line opening.

To the guys that offered to help and not shoot...
Bring your gun and gear.
The course of fire SHOULD be able to be run with 2 line officers and 2 people spotting and scorekeeping.
We actually have more helpers than we need right now!

Apparently being one rev off on the elevation makes you shoot kind of high.....maybe I should actually pay attention to that next time!

It happens to all of us.
That's why they make zero-stop turrets.

Make a habit of always turning your elevation and windage back to their zeros anytime you are not immediatly getting ready to shoot.
That will force you to always check your elevation and windage when you get back on the gun.
This is the habit you want to have so that you never forget to dial the proper windage right before you shoot.

I did the same thing on the speed drill, ended up holding over for the remaining three but screwed myself on time anyway. My instinct is to go fast but I know I'd do better if I just slowed down and concentrated on the details.

I shot two stages with the wrong dope.

My 300-yard hostage shots didn't even hit the cardboard and sailed right over.
