2011 CaRPC Night Match November 19, 2011

Post by 264Charlie »

Hello Guys,

Regrettably I must inform you CaPRC is cancelling the 2011 Night Match. We are expecting a storm and the risk of an incomplete match is too great.

We will contact you all individually about refunds.

I like to call it "tactical tape", others call it gaffers tape :bg: If you got rails, and a 1" body on that surfire, you can just a cheap 1" scope ring.

Thanks Mike, but I'm still running the stock carbine handguards. I will probably attach a rail soon.

Question, is this match the same place you guys run the monthly on the public range?

Will the range be open to the public while this match is being held, or will you guys have access to the whole range.

Thanks,

Vu

Hello Vu, This match will be ran on the same range as our monthly matches. The range will be closed to the public before we start shooting.

One other question, sorry for so many but it's a decent investment if we decide to roll.

Will anyone setting up, ROing, or is involved with the running of this event shooting in it?

Thanks,

Vu, Please ask all you want. I hope you guys can make it down.

No one involved with the event will shoot it. We have a group setup outside the forum to manage the match. The committee is not allowed to discuss event details with anyone. All practice stages will be ran by the committee outside of your monthly events too. (helps that we need to practice in the dark).

Sorry, edited so you can read it now.

Thank you Charlie for answering the questions.

We just wanted to know what the deal is.

We'll look into it. One of our guys will be on a family vacation down that way during that time and will probably shoot.

This might be a silly question...

I've never shot with you guys, but Mike is generously going to help me get me going with my new rifle set up this W-E.

Would it be a bad idea to shoot my first precision match...in the dark?

MDs and ROs?

I take it Randall, Brad and Charlie will be running the show?

I am not sure who is shooting from the CaPRC as they well be treated like everyone else an the must send in a email Sunday. First 35 people get in.

Brad, Nick, Randall, Stephen and I are running the match along with 20 other guys helping out. No one evolved with the match planning, setup or staffing will shoot in the match.

I will reply to your PM tonight too. Sorry so long but I am out at the range testing stages and targets currently.

No.
I may have let it slip that it will be DARK though.
There's not supposed to be any visible moon the night of the match.

I have shot a stage where you start with a blindfold on though...

We do have a stage with lights you can't see. Could thing the club will be supplying a rifle with a very cool optic for that one.

We are working on having a couple of dedicated lines for the competitors to
check zeros before the match, at no charge.
You will have to be signed in before going to the public line.

No white light I take it?

Would hate for some ass hat to shine a 200lumen surefire in a competitors face right before a stage. Only brought up because I've seen it happen at a night shoot before.

Of course.
"No white lights" is going to be the rule.
The only exception will be on the carbine stage where the weapon mounted light can be white.
If someone shines a weapon mounted white light at someone else, we got bigger problems than the white light... :thumb:

I only ask since it was not mentioned in the previous post. Not everyone has non-white light head lamps or lights.

Yellow, green or blue chem lights are fine.
Chem lights are generally not that bright as to cause vision problems for people looking at them.
It's high-intensity flashlights that are the problem.

I just have a but load of chem lights that I used at a calguns night shoot. I really have no other use for them except for my emergency kit. I have a headlamp w/ a red light but I just want and excuse to use my light sticks.
