CaPRC match at Angeles 7/10/11

Post by AR15barrels »

The California Precision Rifle Club is proud to announce that our next match will be Sunday July 10th at the Angeles Ranges.
For details about the Angeles Ranges, see their website: http://www.angelesranges.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Image

Signups start at 7:00am and shooting should start at 8:15am when the line goes hot.
Please arrive at the left side of the Angeles rifle range no later than 7:30am to complete your waivers, sign-in and get assigned your shooter numbers.
Your shooters number is also your position on the line so please lineup accordingly.

This will be the 7th match of our 2011 points series.
Details about the points series are here: http://www.caprc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2175" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Match fee is $20 for Caprc members or $30 for non members.
The match fee also includes use of the range after the match is completed.
We usually try to finish by 1pm.
Bring 50 rounds of match grade ammo.
Be prepared to shoot as close as 10yds and as far as 600yds.
Be prepared to shoot from standing, kneeling, seated, prone and other improvised postions.
Bring a backpack to shoot off of for stages that don't allow a bipod.

This match is open to bolt action and semi-auto rifles from 223 up through 308.
A velocity limit of 3100 fps will be in effect to reduce damage to club-owned steel targets.
Bipods, slings, shooting mats and rear bags are allowed and recommended.
Chamber flags are mandatory and are available from the club if needed.

Line helper RSVP's will be accepted anytime.

Non-Member RSVP's will be accepted after 12 noon on Tuesday July 5th.

Please RSVP by posting something very definite in this thread such as "I am in" or "I will be there" as we will ignore "maybe" or "if" RSVP's.
If you RSVP and later figure out that you can't come, please post that as well so we can keep the RSVP list current and move people up from the waiting list.

Thanks Sonny.
I'll put you down as a helper.
This match is going to need lots of helpers as we are going to try and do 9 steel stages.
That means we need a line officer, a spotter and a scorekeeper at each of the 3 stations.
Then we will rotate everyone through the stations.

I'm thinking/hoping that Brad and I can do the steel setup on saturday night right when angeles closes their line.
There is usually an hour or so of time left from when the line closes until they kick us out to lock the gate.

I'm glad to have both of you guys and I still need a few more helpers as well.
We are going to be running 3 stations so that we divide up the shooters into 3 groups and rotate everyone through the 3 stations three times for a total of 9 steel stages.
Each station needs a line officer running the shooter and the timer, a spotter watching for impacts and a scorekeeper.

However, the volunteers are looking short of nine. If we're short on volunteers on match day, I'll help out with the match instead of shoot.

That's the spirit.
We can actually get away with the 7 line helpers we have IF the spotters can also keep score, or if shooters who are waiting at a station take turns keeping score for the shooters on the line.
It's far better and more consistently scored when we have dedicated scoring people though.

I'm sure someone's wife wants to come hang out with them while they shoot...

Last I heard, there is a crate of 22 caliber and 6mm caliber barrels that will be available at the match.
I don't know specifically whose barrels, but that's what Keith said was on it's way...
