Shooting at Angeles Dec 24th
Looks like there's another group going up to the spot as well on Christmas Eve, but for hose that can't make it that far post up in here. I'll be there at 8:30.

See you guys then. John I know you you are, Zach I'll try figure out which person is you!
I am going to try out my new BCM AR, and blast off the Savage MKII a bit. (See if I can get that no parallax scope to work at shorter distances.)

If you guys are inclined, bring a .22LR. I have one of those cheesy steel targets with five rimfire swingers on it and we can have informal competitions or plinkfests on it after the centerfire shooting. Or you guys can just practice your position shooting on it.
The biggest problem with this is getting adjoining benches. We'll see how it works out.

If Ken could make it with his tan AE, that could be extra fun.

Re: Shooting at Angeles Dec 24th
Steven, you missed out. It was a beautiful day with no wind.
Ho took some pics.
I guess James' rifle is back in business:

I'm bummed I didn't check it out. I was too busy shooting. It's looking good too:

My friend Tony shoots his SSG:

Better view of the rifle:

Scope is a Kahles ZF96:

I dig it, but I can't believe Tony went with a Kahles. He's usually Mr. USO and all of his guns are all USO'd out. Tony is the photographer for USO. He's the one who takes the pics of the USO Calendar Girls:

That last rifle is Tony's M40A1 clone:

So Tony takes pics of pretty girls and scores scopes in exchange. Nice work if you can get it.
My friend Steve brought his FAL:

He also brought one of his Stormtrooper guns:

He loves shit like this. I'm surprised he doesn't have a Sterling, MG34, and Lewis Gun.
Randall brought his .223:

He tweaks with the scope:

Close-up of the rifle:

This thing is awesome. He's got like $10 rings on there and the weapon shoots sweet.
Some more SSG love with Jeff:

From sitting:
I shot my AWP again:

Ho shot this video:
My "usual" at Angeles is to shoot about 100 centerfire and then finish it off with some rimfire for dessert. I was shooting like shit yesterday, so I jumped to the Anschutz 1422 almost immediately:

Some sitting action:

Note the tension in my support hand. That's not good. Close-up:

You can even see the red in my fingers. I'll work on my tiger technique.
My ammo for the day:

I was shooting CCI Blazer because I was just plinking at my beater steel target:

I think the discs are about 2.5" in diameter. This is a challenging target for me from positions at 50 yards. They're almost unhittable from offhand or standing. They're very tough from kneeling. They're not so tough but not easy from sitting or slung prone.
Ho's AE:

He's getting better:

Yesterday was the maiden voyage for Han's AWP:

This rifle is blacker than black. It's blacker than Wesley Snipes in an unlit alley during a lunar eclipse:

Han doesn't handload and was shooting Gold Medal Match yesterday:

Han was kind enough to let me fire a group with his rifle and ammo. My group with Han's AWP is on the top right:

Not anything to brag about, but the AWP shot wherever the crosshair was during my flinches. You can sort of feel when a gun is accurate, even if the group size isn't dinky small. As you can see from my groups, I wasn't shooting well.
Han brought his cousin and let him shoot his HK270 all day:

I believe it was his first time shooting a gun.
DavidRSA let me play with his Savage with Bushnell 10x40. That thing is sweet. Thank you, David.
I had a good time. Thanks for a fun day at the range and Merry Christmas to all of you.

Re: Shooting at Angeles Dec 24th
I made it to DM yesterday morning where Dave was waiting for me. Because of the rain, my Civic was not going to make it on that road, so I had to park my car on the side and Dave gave me a ride on his truck to the shooting place. After I was done shooting our 416 Barretts, I decided to shoot my last 5 rounds to the steel plate at 640 Yds. And when I went to see the plate I was surprised to see the end of the bullets intact. I F...k up my last shoot, my last shoot it's all the way down on the target. Here is the pictures.

Dave and I were a little surprised that my bullets almost put holes in that steel. I was shooting Lehigh bullets. That steel plate looks pretty good after they fixed it, but not for long ;)

Yeah, Bob Campbell sent me an email with some photo's and stated that one of the plate rolled down the hill and missed your door by a few inches....
Hey, thanks for putting in the extra work to make the range nice...Between the benches, the carpeting in the pistol house, the repair of the target and the other minor improvements, its looking like a nice range now....
How long is Dave going to be there. I might come up Wed or Thursday.....
