Some thoughts from the K&M match.

Post by 264Charlie »

Hey guys,

The K&M PRS match was the first time I've ran a Bushnell XRS in a match. Have to say it preformed flawlessly. I did not use the extra power as I mostly shoot on 8 - 20 power. The scope did take many hard hits during the match movements and kept working. I still can't say enough about the G2 reticle it always does the job.

George took his personal match gun (6creed) as a house gun. He did have to swap the trigger to a 2# unit for concerns of an AD. The gun had 1200 fired on it in two days. I was the last shooter to shoot it on day two, without cleaning and hotter than I knew was possible, it was still shooting 1/2 MOA. After he checked it back to the shop the throat as only moved .010.

My gun was chambered it the updated team reamer, loading to 2.740, jumping about .05. It hammered all weekend.

One thing I need to do is get a 2 round holder from SAP.

Armageddon sling worked well on a few stages. I'm still getting more creative with it.

Most of the eastern matches don't require eye pro. I really enjoy shooting without it, although is not very smart.

That's all I got for now.

- House gun was a 6mm same chamber as I was shooting.

- Albert, we are always messing with reamers. This one is shorter and is designed to seat a 105 hybrid just above the base of the next.

- Nathan, that is a great question.

Thanks Charlie. Do the shorter reamers have any effect on barrel life, brass life, or final load? Also I see you are jumping .050 now. So the hybrids are not as jump sensitive as I've read (hammering at .005, .020, .050)?

Hey Charlie, do you know what the freebore length is? Mine was .130 freebore, based on Dave Kiff's recommendation. He said that the .199 freebore last published on the hide was way too long in his opinion.

Anyone that says Hybrids are jump sensitive is insane. I've done tons of testing and don't see any change in a .04 spread.

Reamer was changed because we did not need the space to achieve 3150, It's better to support the bullet with the whole neck if possible. Randall can likely explain way better than me.

I don't know the reamer specs.
