3/2/14 Eagles Nest practice day

Post by AR15barrels »

We have the eagles nest range B reserved for Sunday March 2nd and will be running a practice day.
Gforcejunkie and Autoessentials will be organizing the shoot.

No charge for club members.
$10 for non club members
Show up around 8am and figure on being done by noon unless the guys want to make a full day out of it.

We will have some steel setup out to perhaps 385yds.
There is also the possibility of setting up 300yd paper for load development testing.
We also have the large pistol bay available so pistol practice or shortrange rifle is possible.

If you would like to attend the shoot, please post up here.

I'm a new member, I think, submitted forms but haven't heard anything yet. Anyway, this sounds like fun but I don't know where Eagles Nest is so directions would be appreciated.

Eagles Nest is at Angeles Shooting Range. It's the name of one of the private ranges there. Pretty fun place to shoot.

It's to the left of the Angeles main firing line. There's a driveway to the right of the reloading store, go pass it and up the hill on your right.

No but we can put paper out @ 100 Yards at anytime.

Where the Paper goes is outside the view/reach of the Public Firing Line.

Rich said he will cover the whole day so if you guys want to have a BBQ, there is one there.
You will need to bring charcoal and everything you want to cook...
We also have the large 50yd range to the north of the picnic area so you guys can do 10yd to 50yd dope if you like.

BBQ sounds like a great idea. I will work on that. Maybe we could just do burgers and dogs. Someone could bring some chips or sides, someone else could bring some charcoal, I can grab the burgers, dogs, and buns. I am open to any other suggestions.

Weather is looking sketchy for this weekend. Even if its not raining on Sunday, the range will be so muddy from the expected 3-6 inches of rainfall, we will not be able to set up long range steel. We will just have to wait and see but I suspect we may only be able to shoot on the 50 yard range at best, or cancel at worst. Keep an eye on this thread and we can make a decision sometime Saturday.

Yes, green light guys. I am gonna be there regardless. There is a canopy structure that you can stay under if the rain comes and goes. I am sure that we will have fun regardless. 40% chance doesn't sound that bad at all.

I already picked up burgers and buns. I have bottled waters as well. If anybody else wants to get in on the food let me know, or I can pick up some more stuff myself.
