Well I know many of you have been waiting patiently for an AAR for the 2013 SCPRC, very sorry for the delay, that wasn't the plan. The week prior to and following this year's 8th Annual SCPRC was filled with so much more work, life, drama, etc. than usual. In fact I just got up to get this done having got off at 0400 this AM, sleep would be best, but this needs to get done along with many other things. I still have to go back down to the SEWET Range today to get all the gear out, haul props back to WEGC and then take the steel we used back to Sunland. Another long day. Thank you CAPRC for loaning us the steel for this years match. So yes, my one day off is yet busy again. I need to clone myself.
Without further ado, to be honest the 2013 SCPRC was the toughest one we had to date to host for too many reasons to list. Short handed, not our range, real foul weather (heavy fog) that made it very difficult to run the match with shutdowns and too many other obstacles known and unknown to deal with. We also had some scoring issues that were corrected on site and some that were out of our control and had to let stand. I sent a letter of apology to all the competitors earlier this week and there isn't much other to say, other than we dropped the ball, unfortunately it happens. It happens in all professional sports and it happened here at this years 2013 SCPRC. We'll do our best to do a better job next time. We were just too short handed, however the show needed to go on. Never again in December and at this Range. Not the best location for what we do, but the only thing available at this time. This was hosted on Indian Land and I think "Walking with 10 Bears" didn't like all the noise we were making on his land....Allot of goofy stuff was going on that had the whole crew asking WTF is going on here.
The 2013 SCPRC Overall Winner was Mr. Gordon Campfield, one of San Diego PD's finest and this is his Second Gold 001 Coin. With a total overall score of 918 Points. Great Job Gordon. Add this one to that Coin Holder you have on your wall. Only Todd Reynolds from Texas is the other Double Coin 001 Coin Overall Winner.
We also had some issues with several competitors who dropped out right before and during the match for personal and professional reasons. Yep NEVER AGAIN IN DECEMBER FOR US. Back to November as we have had before for years. So you can plan ahead, we are planning it in November over the 8th & 9th weekend of 2014.
Regards and Please be safe for the Holidays
