Death Valley Density Altitude

Post by robert hode »

Going to Death Valley today to get some snow skiing in.
If I can't find any good powder I will do a test at Bad Water ( el. minus 280 Ft.) and see what the DA is in case the club ever want's to hold a match there.
Estimated high temp. today is supposed to be about 130F. The worlds official hottest recorded temp. ever is 134F (at Death Valley).

Nothing was going on today, so I figured, what the hell, check out what really hot feels like.

I pretty sure all the snow will be melted when it gets over 120 degrees.
God shoots a Remington 700, drives a Chevy Truck and carries a Glock 19.
I don't do any of those things.

No they cost it with reflective paint in Death Valley. Snow last all year that way.

Can't shoot in Death Valley. It's a national park.
No gun but I had my Kestral with me that day.
I can't remember the exact numbers, but the DA was around 3400.
-280 Ft. el., 130 F, can't remember the pressure.
After 4 hours walking around it started to feel a bit warm, so I spent the rest of the day in the bar drinking margaritas. The air-conditioning in my room was broken.
At 1 a.m it cooled off to 114 F out side.
