.243 WIN impacts on steel at 1000 yards.
Just a short video i took of some 1000 yard impacts from a .243 shooting the 115gr dtacs. There are two consecutive groups shot in the video.

Being that the 243 retains more energy at those distances than a 308, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near there. Given popular belief, I would've expected to see the bullets just bounce off and not make a mark.

Interestingly that steel is just regular 1/4 inch steel plate I got at a scrap yard. It puts a nice deep dent in it but wont pass through at 1000 yards. Still some serious energy though for a bullet that has traveled that far.

Im shootimg them at around 2950 FPS. What was crazy though was it was super hot and dry that day. My kestrel was reading 10,000 - 13,000 ft density altitude throughout the day.

I really want to try 1k. I have shot out to 700 but that was just at rocks with my M1 and Kar98k.
