Sounds like a lot of fun. Are you guys currently/planning to have monthly matches there?

If you have "Top Asian" category, I'll definitely be interested. :D

FYI, you can't call something that has never happened yet "annual ". The correct word is inaugural.

so.. as for the "annual" in the title, we put annual because we are going to do it Annually :) Thank you for the Grammar correction, unfortunately i have posted this on multiple forums already. as for scheduling, We want to schedule the monthly's so they will not conflict with WEGC or CAPRC. So as you can imagine they will differ slightly month to month based on those. Our goal is for everyone to 1) have fun 2) have an opportunity to compete and hang out with friends regardless of the what weekend it is. Hope to start seeing all of you out there once we finish the range. The range is called Sewet Gun Range located in Anza, CA. It has multiple bays, currently a 25 yd, a 50 yd, and a 100 yd plus a 1000 yd range. once we are done expanding, we will also have a second 25 yd & 100 yd, plus a shoot house.

Go with the 2nd Saturday or 2nd Sunday of each month.
Wegc are always the 3rd Sunday.
Caprc are usually the 4th Sunday.
1st Saturday is Vegas or 1st Saturday/Sunday is Sac Valley.
Those are the two that most so-cal people would travel to if they were going to an out-of-town match.

Awesome, will work on the scheduling. Thanks for the info. As for the wind and heat, can't help ya there. We'll have plenty of shade and water to help defeat the heat, as for wind, it blows pretty good out there, all the time. But, can't get better at it If you don't shoot in it. You will all have alot of fun and I guarantee our monthly matches will challenge you, and make you better.

The monthly match details will be posted on our website, http://www.aresarmortraining.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; soon. we are still hashing out details and planning these out so they run smooth and efficiently. We are looking at monthly pricing right now to be between $40-$50 and a round count of around 80-100 rounds. but like i said we are still hashing the details out. Our montly matches will include a short run & gun stage to keep us all sharp and from spending all of our time on the monotonous prone firing line. Our intent is that everyone is challenged, has fun, and learns something every match. as for the big match we are putting on, there are hotels within 20-30 minutes of the range, camping and trailers are permitted on site for those of you who would rather do that. we will be posting more information about the Big Match and it will be on our website once registration opens in Apr. Thanks for your interest guys and we hope to see you out there.

i'm still recovering from this weekend's excitement. due to the tactical nature of our profession and OPSEC considerations, pictures of participant and detailed AAR will not be made publicy available. what i can tell you is that the cold bore shot was the most difficult i have ever encountered. 1000 yards.. one shot. here is the target:

so all of you are correct, that was the thousand yard cold bore shot, and you did miss. no we did not hold the competition, we had to reschedule it due to medical reasons. and now it appears that we will be cancelling all together because of unforeseen events and opportunities. We sent messages to everyone who signed up from the hide and here (18 Participants). If you didnt receive a message its because you didnt sign up. We were really excited to put this match on, and we had heard many people talking about it and showing interest, but the fact of the matter is its not worth our time or effort to put on a comp for anyone if they are not willing to take a chance and attend. instead we get a alot of "im waiting to see how many people turn up" or "i want to see how it goes, then maybe ill do it next year" or "who are these guys, have they ever ran a match before?" or whatever else was said. Everyone has to start somewhere, we tried to give socal a 2nd big match, in the end it wasnt worth it. We have heard that SCPRC is out this year as well because Mark is fed up with BS. so where are the SoCal Matches at now? If there is no support for these events and just "talk" we all get no where. Fortunately our friends at Max Ordinate Academy out of Anza, CA have offered their range to Mark to continue the SCPRC if he so chooses.... That is all.

Starting new events is hard, I wish you all the best. I would encourage reaching out to some of the more more known shooter, Brad, Randall, Ryan, James and so on. We can help drive
attendance if you have a future event.

Best of luck

No offense man but did you just put the blame of all this on the local shooters? Cause thats what is sounded like. I wish you guys all the best but Im sorry there was not enough money in this for you. Next time around spend some time at the local matches for us to really get to know you and then maybe you will get some support. The first time fee of $250, which is more then most PRS matches also might have hurt your numbers a little. That is all.....

We thank you for your best wishes. It's weird that you say hang out at local matches and what not... We have. We have shot in the monthly up at Angeles, we have shot at SCPRC, TPRC, TBRC, SHC... And so on... And sure 250 is high but that right around what TPRC was... We had no intention of profitin from this, simply provide the best experience Possible. Meaning all inclusive, free shirts, trophies, coins, lunch both days, zombie targets, multiple stages with barricades and obstacles, vehicles. As you all know to put on a match of this magnitude cost money. I personally spent months gaining support and prizes from companies such as MGM, ashbury intl., nemo arms inc, hornady, USO, Vortex, and tons of others. We had support and help from Vu and Mark. We planned on a match like no other encompassing multiple styles of shooting. I am not blaming local shooters, I'm stating that without shooters there is no match. Hopefully if we choose to run a comp in the future we can get more partipants.

I remember seeing you at TBRC as well as TPRC. But as far as the local matches I have only seen you guys make maybe 1 or two monthlies. You would have some amazing support if you actually shot more with the group of guys that shoot CAPRC as well as WEGC. TPRC has been around for a few years as well as TBRC. Charlie from Score High had his first match and the fees where a reasonable $175 if I recall. But Charlie also already built a reputation in the big match community. If you choose to run a match in the future I would start laying the ground works with the local shooters. Unless you already have all the spotters and score keepers you could ever need!
