Somewhere in AZ or NV to shoot non CA compliant stuff
I would love to take a couple days and head off to AZ or Nevada to experience the thrill of using 30 rounds magazines and non bullet button AR-15's.
Any recommendations for a range or other shooting area that would be good for a weekend trip?

The match is held at Desert Sportsman which is just west of vegas, though you can shoot on almost any public land once you are in NV or AZ.
You can shoot on other bays after the match is over.

God shoots a Remington 700, drives a Chevy Truck and carries a Glock 19.
I don't do any of those things.

Public land is much more fun for plinking though

Free place to plink near Vegas. Lot of locals go here. Goes without saying, but be sure to shoot into the mountain and not over it :p

Newer Guy Question:
Ballistic FTE has an area where you can enter the current density altitude of where you are shooting when you enter a "favorite" load in the HUD. It supposedly corrects your come ups to the new DA.
Why do you have to physically resight in at a new range (match) prior to shooting if you have this feature...or do you?

It will correct your come ups, but your zero will still be off. You have to re-zero and then the come ups should all come into alignment once you've done so.robert hode wrote:Newer Guy Question:

This is probably one of the best places to shoot on BLM land around Vegas. Although it can get a bit crowded at times on weekends, with idiots shooting telephone books n shit. All distances are marked off (painted) on rocks and signs from 100-1100yds to first narrow berm on left, 60ish more to large horseshoe berm. There used to be steel on the hill which can stretch whole range to like 1300yds.

Btw, Randall/others, I am still a member at DSRPC and will be there Friday afternoon to zero and check dope before match if anyone wants to join. Think they charge $5 for non-members to shoot with a member.
