Angeles practice Sunday 2-3-13

Post by AR15barrels »

We have the eagles nest at Angeles booked for this Sunday.
I know that most of you have probably not shot up there.
This is our chance to do positional and setup any sort of props we want.
This is one of the few chances we get to run around and use props that they don't let us use on the rifle line.
I'd like to setup the pivoting platform where we shoot from the moving platform.
We can only use steel for targets and we should be able to place targets out to about 350yds.

Who would like to go play with the barricades, rooftop and maybe shoot out of my truck this Sunday?

Let's say 8am to 12 noon, show up whenever you want.
$5 for members or $10 for non members covers the range rental fees.
God shoots a Remington 700, drives a Chevy Truck and carries a Glock 19.
I don't do any of those things.

I was thinking of hitting the range on sunday to confirm my zero and get some trigger time in before AZ.
Ill probably hit the main line first and then head on up there.

Rimfire only? Either way, I'm in.

Thanks Randall.

I'll be there. I'm gonna bring a friend. Steel only? Not even a small paper holder at 100 for zero?

Randall, would we have to leave at noon? Or could we stay longer?

I'm headed out there now to setup a couple targets.
I hope to wrap this up before noon.

Man, you guys missed out. That Eagle's Nest range is a ton of fun. Full freedom to shoot transitions, and no line breaks to deal with. Lots of places to place targets out in a wide field of fire. There is a nice covered area in which to hang out in as well. I really will be looking forward to shooting there for any upcoming practices or matches.

Look fun. Could we hold the match there?

Yes.
It would just need to be well planned.

Just wondering. What is the furthest one could shoot there?

I have shot beyond 700 yards at that range... Supposedly Scotty has targets out to 1k on the hill

We shot to 300yds only today. If road is accessible, we could be looking at 750yds+ but that's tbd.

The best part about this range though is that it allows you to practice in multiple positions that you wouldn't otherwise been able to at the main line.
