I want to try this, but only when I have a switch barrel rifle and a beater barrel.

I have about a dozen mags, just none that actually feed all the time. I'm going to take the hint and try to get a handful ready for the next rimfire matchGforceJunkie wrote:How many mags do you have for your .22 upper caus I just got a great idea![]()

I hope you have a Mad Minute stage in the next rimfire match. Who cares if the autos have an advantage or not. That stage looks like fun.GforceJunkie wrote:I just got a great idea![]()

Just make the target smaller or farther away and that should help level the playing field for the bolt actions.johnlee wrote:

Re: Modern Mad Minute
Good idea.
Also, perhaps shooting a Mad Minute stage from something like sitting or slung prone rather than bipod prone might make equipment less of a factor.
Whatever you end up doing, I hope to see a Mad Minute in a forthcoming rimfire match. That really looks like fun.

Yes but hopefully prone because I suck at positional stages.

I was surfing GunsAmerica during lunch and ran across this mad minute special:
http://www.gunsamerica.com/922194270/Gu ... r_22LR.htm#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Fuck it. I bought it.
Unfortunately, I won't have possession of it in time for this weekend's rimfire match.

I was using it for dry fire practice. Just a timer with buzzers and a delayed start. It worked ok for that but i was keeping track of how many trigger pulls I made so i knew when to change mags. Mag changes is where the mad minute is won or lost, at least that's what I think.Gnzrme wrote:It sucks. Re: Modern Mad Minute
I can blow through a 10 round mag in the MKII pretty quickly but I keep accidentally engaging the saftey. Anyone here have any ideas about disengaging or removing the lever? I don't think it's strictly necessary on a .22 bolt with the Accutrigger.

don't you have to have a functioning safety according to the match rules? I know they never check so maybe I'm wrong.evo wrote:I can blow through a 10 round mag in the MKII pretty quickly but I keep accidentally engaging the saftey. Ahh, OK missed that. Maybe I can come up with a block or something just for the rapid fire stage.

Re: Modern Mad Minute
You have to have a functioning safety for our matches. Perhaps remove the big knob on the savage lever and just have enough of the sheet metal lever sticking up so it can be functional.

Re: Modern Mad Minute
I'll see what I can whip up, I was hoping not to permanently modify, but I might be able to remove the knob but then tap and bolt it back on after the match.
