2012 CaPRC organized away matches
CaPRC is proud to announce it will be organizing 3 "away" match trips in 2012. The purpose is to give our shooters an opportunity to experience other matches they would not attend by them selves, and help defray the costs of out of town matchs by combining and splitting travel/hotel costs. The dates are:
May 4-5 Las Vegas
Aug. 3-5 Camp Pendleton
Oct. 5-7 Sac. Valley
Note that we will be leaving at aprox. noon on Fridays and returning Saturday or Sunday evening. More details will follow as the matches get closer, but we wanted to posts these dates ASAP for people who need time to get days off from work/family, etc.

Just a question but did you guys talk to the other match directors first? This is a great way for the guys who do shoot to get a taste of what else is out there. I know that some times space is limited in some.

thats why we are posting this early. So that people can post up early.. Usually there isnt a problem with going to vegas or pendelton. Nor Cal gets croweded, but is usually fixed by doubling up on targets....

I agree that you should make the MDs aware thats you're planning this.
With that said im not sure if this will even work. Plenty of road trips are made and most people here show very little initiative to want to travel and shoot. Personally i enjoy shooting out of town more just for the whole weekend away feeling. It kinda feels like a vacation. Not to mention titties and beer that usually results...
I'm sure it's still worth trying this out but i'm optimistic it will get the results you guys are looking for.
Anyone who shoots out of town better be ready for some schenanigans!!!

I am guilty of this but hope to change it this year with some out of town trips. I really want to travel more but I was really just a lazy ass last year and was out at the lake or in the dirt every other weekend.

Doesn't it make more sense to get accepted to a match before making arrangements to go?

Kurt usually starts a thread on SH before the match. Just post up if your going. I don't think he has a limit, but I am not sure. We will notify him and the other match directors that we are planning to attend some matches. Honestly, I do not see it as an issue.

Yeah, life's been crazy trying to finish up school and working on a paper I'm hoping I can publish. Going to be in Colorado in 4 weeks checking out apartments and stuff. Already shopping for NFA items!Gnzrme wrote:that would require knowing or talking to him.... Oh wait.... It is you.... How you been Connor. Long time no talk. Re: 2012 CaPRC organized away matches
Just as an update for AZPRC. At the current range in Ashfork, we have no limit of shooters and we schedule ours to be on the sunday after Kurt's match. So you can shoot Vegas, stay the night in Vegas and then drive the 2.5 hours to Ashfork from there. AZPRC is a non-profit organization, 100% of the entry fees are donated to various soldier, seaman or airman organizations. Entry fee is $25 and our next match is March 4th at 0800. Please email or call with any questions.

And individuals there will be a seperate class for tac rigs. Just gotta make sure all shooters with brakes are squadded together
