600 BR match OVGC

Post by 264Charlie »

Anyone interested in shooting the 600BR match with me at OCGC? Basically we would not count our scores and shoot from a bipod and bag off the bench or ground if they let us.

I sent an email asking we could attend with counting our scores. I will let you know what I get back.

The match is the 3rd weekend of the month and they run two strings of fire them move to 600BR Silhouette for 30 rounds

So they wont count your score? Why shoot a match then? Just another practice day.

Your score would count if your gun meets the rules. Mine is too heavy.

Frankly I don't care about scores at local matches. Where are you going to get a day of shooting with someone pulling pits in the area?

I guess you would know your score for the day and could compare them to other shooters.

Really I would expect BR guys to kick my ass anyway.

Sounds like this could be a fun day to get there and shoot with some new people. I would be imterested I'm this. The more training the better. What does the entry fee run? Where do they shoot at? I take it that next month would be the closest match. How many rounds do they run through?

Sounds like good practice. All you have to worry about is the wind and yourself. No barricades or other loopy stuff. Just straight shooting. I'd be interested.

Info the MD>

Charles, You are perfectly fine to shoot our matches. Our club or NBRSA matches are on the third Sunday of every month. The club matches we shot 2 LG(5 shot groups) on 600yd NBRSA targets and 3 matches (10 shot) of half size silhouette. Barry

Looks like 40 scoring rounds + sighters.

Could be fun if we get a few guys every month.

Do you know How much it is? I didn't see the match fee on the website.

The 600BR Silhouette is $3 per match (3 matches of available 10 rounds each). I am not sure what the BR paper entry is. I sent an email off the the MD. I will let you know.

The paper is also 3.00 per target. Its like 15.00 for the 2 paper and 3 silhouette. We do have fun shoot at end which is 5.00 for 5 shots no practice at a 3/4"exploding hole winner gets the pot. Paul Fielding won the pot Sunday for 105.00

If you want to shoot 600 there is a 3x600 at BRRC in Castaic. The third saturday of each month. Prone with bi pod, rest, sling or bag or your best pair of fuzzy slippers. unlimited sighters, 20 shots for the record in 30 minutes. It's NRA approved. BRRC.org. Ojai is a beautiful range and you'll see me there on the 22nd
