Guys,

We came up with the following concept after shooting a HP match this past weekend.

Please review and let me know what your thoughts are.

Looks really good Vu. My only concern is how your proposing to measure the barrels. If you measured from the recoil lug to the front of the mb, wouldn't that eliminte guys running stock 26" remingtons with a brake longer then the threaded portion of the barrel in the receiver? Sounds fun though! My 260 fits one class but i might be a hair over 18lbs since my setup is exactly like yours with the addition of sniper fill... my 308 will fit the other.

Yup it would, but a guy can easily remove his brake.

Brakes are really not needed in this type of format. Your shot is marked every round and its slow prone fire.

Gotcha... buy thread protectors or have randall make you one with your barrels guys. :)

Or just take it off for the day, you get sighters so its not like you have to drill an X on your CBS.

I just feel that this format could help build both Tac and F-Class. A group may say, dyam I wanna really get into F-TR or F-Open, or they may get more comfortable at distance and want to run and gun.

Just another venue to promote precision LR shooting.

You must think randall threads these things for us for free lol.

I really like the idea. It gives everyone a chance to feel competitive. I wish we had more f-class style matches around here for me to try. TBRC is the only time to date i've been able to shoot paper beyond 300 and it was my favorite part of the match by far. That's especially odd because im usually bitching at randall to incorporate more steel into our matches.

Good work.
I definetly see the need for something in-between F-Class and Tac Rifle.

Are you guys possibly going to find another weekend day in the schedule at Sac Valley to run matches like that or is this more of a concept to propose to the NRA to help revive competitive rifle shooting?

Randall,

Both. Trust me, I have ZERO desire in being the national match director for this. However, I think guys like us need to be involved and help the NRA find something that can work for them and us. I believe this concept could be it with enough support.

Our HP guys are behind us and said they would help and even shoot it.

We will probably convert a few practice days next year to do live testing of the format to see what actual response will be.

You are not looking hard enough.

Perhaps look at the schedule I put together?

You can shoot F class all the time at Pendelton, Cuyama, BRRC or WEGC.

Im working on getting out to cuyama one of these times. Its really far from me though. Pendelton would be closer im sure but id rather go with some of our guys so i can get a feel of where to go and how its run before i go myself. I was mainly refering to wishing there were f-class matches at the ranges i normally go to already. I'm bummed that i missed WEGC since its the closest to me. Hopefully it can happen again soon.

WEGC runs F Class alongside their regular highpower match.
BRRC is probably your best chance to catch a 3x600 as they have them every month.
BRRC is about an hour closer than the spot.

Looks really good. Only question I have is how are you going to easily confirm the bullet weights with the Limited class?

Buffy,

Samples can be taken during or before matches. There is such a big weight differnce that a guy can weight a loaded round and tell if its a 155 or 175

It sounds like a great idea. I'd love to shoot it.
