CaPRC Night Match October 9th
We have gotten clearance to use Angeles Ranges after closing for running night matches.
Our first match will be October 9th starting at 6pm.
Please show up by 5pm to get signed up and a squadded.
We should be finished up by 10pm.
There wil be very little moon light as the new moon is just 2 nights prior.
Please bring a red or green headlamp or flashlight to walk around with.
No white lights will be allowed on the line as they are blinding to the other shooters.
Since we have the use of the whole rifle line, we will run 3 separate shooting areas.
We will be running 3 squads, one in each shooting area.
As you complete the course of fire in one area, you will rotate to the next area and shoot that course of fire.
Plan on 8-9 stages and 60 rounds.
Targets will be placed from 10yds to 600yds.
$30 entry fee.
Awards will be given out for 1st through 3rd as well as Top 308 shooter.
We are going to limit this to 30 shooters.
We are also looking for volunteers to act as scoring and line officers.
Please RSVP by posting "I'll be there" if you want to shoot, or "I'll help" if you can be available to help run the match.

Boy why didn't I figure that one out years ago...You mean if you don't have enough people you don't host a match :oPending we get enough help we are GTG to help out and shoot this one?
The Lone Ranger is real sometimes and if you dare you can play the part at times.
All kidding aside James, if some people don't shoot to host a match so others can, I guess that's the way it goes sometimes. The last Match I shot was the 2010 TPRC and since then have only MD the monthly's at WEGC. It would be nice to have a dedicated "volunteer" staff so I could shoot. It would also be nice to have a real rifle range too, but you do what you can with what you got I guess.
Granted Brother Vu has a world class training center (50%) up in Sac, and they also have guys (the other 50%) that are dedicated to the sport who travel close to far who are willing to pull targets, make targets or do whatever it takes. In this game we are the pit crew, the driver and owner at times. I have been doing it long enough to know nothing is going to change, its just the way it is. In fact it has only become harder to do over the years with so many range closures and good people who share this long range passion who have left the state.
You guys are growing something good up there, so keep at it, it does take time. ;)

Just curious...I assume this night match will be a sub for the regular monthly match for October? Or will there be another one?

Randalls KYL on the rite and mine on the left.
we couldn't see the lines on the targets most of the time, so we just had to guess.

They can park like the SWAT guys do on Thursday afternoons. You know, wherever the hell they want without regard to who they are blocking or the lines painted on the road.ColdSteel wrote:

Red lenses are the way to go.
Besides that, there's not really anything special needed.
