Come on out and join us at Angeles for the 2nd part of our new precision rifle shooter series of clinics on Sunday April 24th.
This shoot will have you gathering dope from a 100yd zero out to 600yds as well as work on spotting and calling shots and making corrections from calls.
We will be continuing with using the features of the scope and how to make accurate soft dope from your hard dope using ballistics software.
You need to have attended (as a shooter) one of our former "A" clinics in order to attend this clinic as a shooter.
We will limit this to 20 shooters so that those shooters can get maximum range time.
Fees are $75 for non members or $50 for club members.
The entry fee covers the classroom sessions, cold drinks and BBQ lunch and your use of the range for the rest of the day after the clinic is over.
Plan on a full day as the schedule has us shooting until at least 3pm.
You may participate as a non-shooter, observe the shooting portion of the day and join us for the BBQ for a reduced $25 non-shooter fee.

Image

Tentative schedule as follows:
7:15 Sign-in
7:30 Classroom session on the firing line.
8:15 line goes hot. verify, correct and zero knobs at 100yds (5-10 rds)
10:00 open shooting time with instruction as needed
12:00 BBQ lunch break
1:00 open shooting time with instruction as needed

Some things to bring:
Precision bolt rifle wearing a scope with target knobs, eye/ear protection, sunscreen, chamber flag, 80 rounds of match quality ammo, printout from a ballistics program showing your bullet drop in moa or mils as appropriate to your scope, shooting mat or blanket, bipod, some kind of rear bag or sand sock, small notepad and a pencil or pen to take notes.
Bring what you have, don't worry too much about what you don't have.
We always make do with what we have.

This is a Precision Rifle event so if the gun/scope/ammo is not capable of shooting 1moa groups, it will detract from your overall experience at the shoot.
Please have your rifle zeroed at 100yds and your knobs set to zero before you arrive on the day of the shoot.
We will verify a correct zero at the shoot, but it takes time that is better spent putting rounds on targets.

We are also looking for our experienced club members to show up and help instruct.
If you are able to help on the line, please RSVP anytime.

RSVP's for CaPRC club member shooters will be accepted after 1pm on 3/31/16.
RSVP's for non club member shooters will be accepted after 1pm on 4/7/16.
Any RSVP's posted before those times will be ignored or deleted.

AR15 Barrels,

Sorry for my late response as my day job keeps me extremely busy. Yes, I did attend both A and B Clinics when Charley Robert was one of the supporting "Line Men".

Imposter.

My back is acting up and I will not be able to setup the steel tonight.
If I could get a couple line helpers at 7:00am and help me setup steel, that would be really helpful...

Jennifer and I expect to be there between 7 and 7:15. I'll bring a spotting scope, range finder, and kestrel. I'll throw a couple handy talkies in the car, they might make it easier to communicate where you want steel.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone that is involved in teaching a newbie like me how to shoot! Randal and team, today was great and though I had a pretty crappy start (lost my zero from last week and was shooting off the top of the stack of four targets when aiming at the bottom target) I can't tell you how great it felt to hit things at 400 and 600 yards away! It was honestly the best day of shooting and most fun I have ever had with a gun. I can't believe that I went from never shooting a long range gun to hitting a 5"x7" target at 600 yards after the A and B clinics, plus one sunday practice session before all the clinics. Though the practice session was on an AR and the clinics were with a bolt, like the bolt much more! You guys are really patient and make the entire learning process a pleasure. I'm sorry I couldn't stay till the end today, with the long drive home, but these clinics are great. - Thanks again!

PS - Randal - you mentioned the target was available on the site as zero2.pdf but I'm only finding the zero.pdf (no circles just the diamond in the center).

Thanks everyone for a great class. I had a great time it was really great to hit a 600-yard target. I really appreciate all the hard work the volunteers have done to put on these great classes. Thank you very much.

First off big thanks to the line helpers/instructors (jeff, jennifer, julian, keith and anyone I missed) the knowledge you share makes this new addiction of rifle shooting that more easier to understand. Also a big thanks to randall for coming out and sharing knowledge and teaching while dealing with a painful injury, true passion.

Day started off with zeroing and shooting dots but when things really got fun was when we were engaging the 400 yard swingers. Got some good hits there but then came that little basterd at 600. When I hit that the first time it gave me huge confidence boost. I would of never though I can hit that small of a target at that distance. Right then the addiction level elevated to heroin levels and coupled with the great spotting I received from Derek (DSPphotos) it made for the funnest day I ever had behind a rifle.

By 2 O'clock the eyes were getting googly, the neck muscles were burning with fatigue and I realized I only got about 2 hours of sleep the night before. I had a blast, went home spent and learned so much that in the end it was worth every penny.

Once again Big thanks and i can't wait to learning positional on Sunday.

Big Mike.
