Hey all, does anyone have the exact distances for the steel targets at Angeles? The RO's confirmed what my dope is telling me, that they're a bit off from the set 100 yard increments, was hoping to get some better numbers. Thanks.

Exact numbers? I'm sure it would depend on exactly where you are on the firing line

Perpendicular to the firing line then, at least a better idea than the nominal distances they give. I'm trying to back-track MV for a couple loads without having to chrono them.

I figure at least one person knows their MV and dope on each of the targets with a given set of environmental conditions and has figured out what the actual distances are.

The smallest square flapper at 500Y is pretty bang on from the left side of the line. It's right at 1-1.25MOA so it's your best bet for confirming DOPE.

The firing line is not parallel to the target berms.
It actually matters where you are on the firing line and where the target is on a specific berm.

The 500yd berm will run between 500y and 535yds depending on where you are on the line and what target you are shooting.

The answer you seek lies in purchasing a rangefinder and ranging your targets.

Gotcha, I didn't really think about it much but I guess the angles are significant if you're sweeping across the line. I did come across a thread on calguns discussing DA where a few had mentioned they had independently ranged them and they were within +/- 5 yards of the nominal distances, so if someone comes along looking for this answer later, there you have it. Time for some trigonometry, and I guess allocating the funds for a RF.

Well the distances are going to vary slightly depending on where you are on the line. If you laze from the ground (with a steady spot to set the rangefinder on) the corrected value may differ than if you laze from the bench.

I was there today and from about middle of the line to the small hanger on the 600 line I lazed it as 608 with corrections for angle to 590. Nailed it on the first shot and confirmed hard dope at all distances up and down the line using these corrected values.

Rifle was dialed in and center punched 1/2 inch dots at 100. Why can't I do that when it counts?!

It's not a hardware issue..... It's glitchy software......

Save me the trig, what incline angle did you measure to get that? I never measure more than 10 degrees, but that's with a plumb bob and protractor. Seeing a trend here?
