SCPRC gear question...

In the SCPRC rules it states... "Be on time and whatever gear you bring to the line you must carry throughout the match"

For those that have shot SCPRC before (different range I know) does this mean that whatever pack or gear you bring you have to run with it through the stages as well?

I have no issue humping my Eberlestock backpack with my rifle and gear from stage to stage but if I'm going to need to actually shoot with it on I'll just go with a battle belt.

What's your plan guys? Packs or belts? The only real advantage to the pack is in the ability to carry clothing and small bits/spares. My belt can carry all the essentials, Mags, 80 rounds of ammo, water, Kestrel and my LRF. I took the backpack with me at the Surefire match and it worked out fine since we were mostly moving by SUV and didn't have more than a 100Y hump between close stages, however it still got heavy and annoying toward the end of the day.

Think like this:
You probably won't be able to get to your car all day.
Bring whatever you would want with you.
They will provide you water.

You don't have to hump everything all day, but you will need to bring it with you if you want it each day.
Think Rain Gear, rain cover for the rifle, snacks, pillow, a book to read etc...

We might walk from one shooting area to another, and you need to bring ALL your stuff you might use. You dont need to wear the pack shooting, but you want the stuff in your pack available at that stage.....

That means a pack.

And cold weather, rain, snacks..

I've slept in 0ºF in my teardrop plenty of times, with a good down bag it's quite cozy. I've got a camp stove for coffee and breakfast and can always turn the heater in the Subie on if I need a quick thaw. I also want to shoot some constellation photography out there...

From my last Joshua Tree trip...

Re: campfires I got this response from Mark...

"You can cook over an open flame at your camp site but best to bring a shovel or fire extinguisher in proximity. The fire must be contained and monitored at all times. We'll show you were to have your fire. We'll be there Fri-Sun on the range."

Are you sure you want an AI mag, not the same as an AICS.

He needs a single feed, not a dual feed. Or am I mistaken and its the AW mag that's the dual feed?

AW mags are double stacked.

Teletiger7 wrote:AI makes AW and AICS mags
AICS mags are center-feed (single cartridge is presented to the bolt in the middle of the action).
AIAW mags are staggered feed (Cartridges are presented on the left and the right side of the action).
