Anyone have any hotels lined up for the match? I live in San Diego but thinking of staying closer to the match due to the commute.

Anyone?

I found a ridiculous deal on ours at a used car lot in White Sands when I was location scouting, but they start at about $8K new...

No kitchen in ours though, just storage. It's very comfortable, even for me 6'4".

If it's less than an hour drive i'd probably prefer the comfort of my own bed.

I agree. I am in San Diego and its 80 miles away from me. So I am looking for a hotel to stay at. Would cut the drive in half each way if I stayed in Temecula.

You need an air mattress.
I sleep awesome on an air mattress.
Better than most hotel beds...

I use a 3" self inflating pad from REI. Feel better than a regular mattress.

I have a bad back and this guys prevents me from getting sore.

50 miles to my house so I'm going home. Warm meal, warm house, warm bed... Sucks to be cold all night, shitty sleep = shitty performance. It's like my commute to work so no big deal.

Ya but what if you get out late 10:00 PM. 1 hr drive home. Asleep by 11:30-12:00. Get up by 5:30 to get ready and drive time. Only about 5-6 hrs of sleep.

With the proper sleeping bag & pad, sleeping outdoors can be comfortable.

The first night of all the camping trips I go on I never sleep well. Takes me a day to adjust.

If it is going to be less than 40 degrees, a hotel room might be a necessity.... What are the hotels in the area... Solomon, we can get a room with 2 beds.... Rich, you can even have a bed this time.....

Last time I camped it was in the low 30's. I used a down sleeping bag rated for 20 degrees. I had to sleep with it open.

Steven I won't be able to shoot it. It's my daughter's Birthday that weekend.

I slept in my van last SCPRC. It was down to about 34-35 that night.....

It sucked.

I had enough bag and blankets... but in the AM, trying to start the van for heat, and getting out of the bag and getting dressed.... when you just want to stay in the bag.....

I'm crashing on Aarons couch.

Last year the few people that camped or RV'd turned in very soon after a quick dinner since it was already cold outside.

Sleeping in cold weather is not a problem, with the proper bags and bivet cover. The bitch is getting out and dressed.

I found a Motel 6 in Temecula. Its about $50 a night. At least its a comfortable place to stay. Will not freeze your butt off and nice hot shower in the morning!

lat year I stayed in some place right off the 15 north of the 10. Probably considered Fontana. It was a motel 6 or Super 8 I think. $50-60 IIRC and pretty decent condition.

Mike that's what I found. There really is no place to stay east of the 15 from what I have found. The Temecula area is the closed for hotels.

So does a hotel room....... with cable TV.

I was camping with my son last week in the mountains. It got down into the 40's; sleeping was fine but after getting up to in the morning to go pee, my son said he's "over it".....

PS~ To us and those like us..... Enjoy Veterans Day.

Hey Men,
As with previous SCPRC's, we RV all three days, Friday thru Sunday. So we will be onsite. There is also another Porta-Pottie being brought in near our camping area. Just letting you know.

If you Motel it, make sure your on time. People want to shoot and we plan to keep things on a tight schedule.

Good Luck

It's never been a problem before. We all want to get more people interested in this game. Come out, have a look, introduce yourself, ask questions, fondle peoples gear.
