The first day was a pretty unorganized goat rodeo. On the website it said we could check zero and check in on Friday evening. The check in part didn't happen and we were told to be back at 8am the next morning to do so. Well, the shooters meeting didn't take place until 10:45 and first rounds didn't go down range until just before noon. Some COFs were pretty good, but there was very differential enforcement of rules and no consistency in match terminology between stages. Some COFs were impossible, some COFs were shot by locals the in the prior months and even the day prior, and some COFs were way too easy. Anyways, the second day seemed like a completely different match run by different people. It was a kick ass field shooting match with great COFs. Unfortunately, they started way late again, Charlie and I had to change flights (setting us back 250 bucks a piece) and we still had to leave immediately after shooting the last stage. No awards, nor prize table.



I'm proud of Charlie. He kicked some serious ass with a scope he zeroed the day before the match and a load for which he had no solid dope. He put on a clinic for the guys in his group, some of which had already shot some of these stages.

The helo stage was a blast. This was a first for me. (Had to add some music otherwise it'd be just white noise)



If they tweak some things here and there, I think this could be a premier match. The venue is awesome with plenty of area for all kinds of COFs. Its one to keep an eye on.

Is the match physically tough? Like you have to hike a mile with your gear?

TSA had to fill out a bunch of paperwork and call the cops. The cop was way cool and said just check the bag and get on with it.

Gordon-its not too physically demanding. We only had a couple stages where we had to run a bit. Overall, we probably hiked a mile with gear. But it was cumulative. It was easy getting from stage to stage.

Is that a Bushnell HDMR on Charlies setup?

I believe so... He was telling me that he was running that setup with the G2 reticle and was very happy with it....

We were both running HDMRs with the G2 reticle. Bushnell is a big sponsor of team GA Precision, which Charlie is now a member of (congrats BTW!). With that said, the scopes are awesome. I've always had zero shifts upon zeroing with the aforementioned scopes when I get to my destination. This HDMR was dead on when I zeroed Friday evening. And I drilled my cold bore on Saturday within a tenth of an inch. It tracked perfectly all weekend with no random zero shifts...which is more than I can say for S&B and the PH.

Don't know off hand. But I haven't had a problem going to 1k with it with a 20 MOA base. Its built in the same factory as Vortex Razors and Nightforce. Word has it, Light Optics (who builds them all) has very good QC on erectors, erector springs, and tolerances so its no surprise they track and hold zero well. That's more important than another 10 MOA of total adjustment.

It's nice to hear good things about that HDMR. Have one sitting on a mount for an AR10 that I have not used yet. I think I may need relocate it.

HDMR is tracking and working great. You guys know I will not run anything that does not preform well. I am really impressed with this scope so far.

Let me know if you want one I should be able to get you guys a great deal on them.

Glass is not quite as good, but with more magnification, it doesn't matter. Reticle on the HDMR is a little better I think. The locking turrets on the HDMR are great in some aspects, other times they seem like they're not needed. Not a maker or breaker for me. Seeing how its performed for me, and given what I've heard from big guys in the optics industry, this scope is definitely better than anything near and in its price range.
