So my daughter Samantha surprises the shit out of me when she tells me she wants to shoot 1k yds at Desert Marksman this past saturday. She's at that stage where I cant pay her to hang out with me (damn teenager) anyway I shot my .50 (browning) and end up with a score of 238-7x out of a possible 250 and Samantha shoots my stock 700p (308) and scores 242-6x, not only did she outshoot me but ends up coming in 3rd place in 22-308 non magnum class . Freakin awesome getting smoked by your kid and placing 3rd with a rifle I was sure I had shot the barrel out after 6k or so rounds, seems like it doesnt need a new barrel.....it needs a new shooter :o We had to leave as soon as we were done because Samantha had her 8th grade graduation at 3pm but Brad (match director) was totally cool with the early departure. I was more fired up about her coming in 3rd than her graduating with honors and awards! So you guys might see her at our monthly matches as I've been trying to get her to shoot more often..

I'm not sure when the match was officially over but 3pm sounds about right because one of my buddies called me with our scores around that time. We had to leave by 11am to make her graduation at 3 in ontario. I still havent got Brads AAR report to see what everybody else shot and where they placed but when I get it I will post the results. Im guessing it was a full load of 40 shooters, the morning briefing was packed with some new faces but again Im guessing I'll post the results.

I can't think of any way one could be more proud to have been beaten in a rifle competition. That's just plain awesome, good for her!
