This last weekend was the High Power/F-Class Canadian/American Match at Sac Valley Shooting Center. This event takes place during a month long of HP/F-Class competition called March Madness.

Jim O'Connell is Sac Valley's HP Director, and the man behind March Madness. After a brief discussion, Jim gave us the green light and has added the FPR Class to his program.

For the first time ever, tac rigs (even with brakes) were goin to shoot side by side with the F-Class and Sling shooters.

Our group decided to focus on two specific days so we would have a decent showing.

Saturday March 12th - 4 Man Teams
300, 600, 900 and 1000 yds. (48 rounds)

Sunday March 13th - Individuals
300, 500, 600 and 1000 yds. (48 rounds)

We had 6 complete teams on Saturday. 3 were FPR-Limited (308win / 175gn) and 3 were FPR-Open (Hot Rods)

On Sunday we had 7 shooters in FPR-Limited and 10 in FPR-Open.

For the Teams, the OMC took home first place in FPR-Open.

Here are today's individual's results for FPR-Limited (308) and FPR-Open (Hot Rods)

Congrats to Mr. David Kerley for taking home 1st place with his Spartan 7 SAUM.

I was lucky enough to take home 1st in the Limited class with my Newman 308win (175gn).

Overall it was a great experience and good trigger time.

Going from a game of hammering down to a 60 - 90 second per round COF is a world of difference.

99.9% of the folks I enteracted with were friendly and helpful. We only had one asshole on the line that needed a serious attitude adjustment. Other than that, I believe our group had a great time and plan to come back more often.

For those that are close enough to Sac Valley that are not ready to run and gun, or the fast pace of tac matches, I would seriously look at joining the HP Group for a few of these matches. This is a great venue to learn how to read wind and get trigger time at distance.

Jim will be adding the FPR class to all his monthly events from now on. Braked or no brake, all of us are welcomed on his line. Just let him know ahead of time if you do have a brake and he will squad you away from the sling shooters.

It also helps if you put your pack up so you don't blast the folks around you as well. We had a full line so the F-Class guys really appreciated the fact that we put lil barriers up for our brakes.
