				CaPRC Marksmanship Clinic "A" 2-26-11
				Posted: Sun Feb 13, 2011 6:57 pm
				by AR15barrels
Come on out and join us at Angeles for our new precision rifle shooter orientation on Saturday January 26th.
We will teach how to get behind the gun/scope, attaining proper eye relief, using the features of the scope and natural point of aim.
Then we will check your zero at 100yds and get the knobs set to zero and work on the basics of marksmanship.
The class is being taught by a former USMC scout sniper instructor.
This is a beginning precision rifle shooter clinic so we will concentrate on basic marksmanship as it is the basis of all future learning.
This will primarily be shot at 100yds, but we may get to gather longer range dope if time allows.
We will limit this to 20 actual shooters so that those shooters can get maximum range time.
Fees are $50 for non members or $40 for club members.
The entry fee covers the classroom session, cold drinks and BBQ lunch and your use of the range for the rest of the day after the clinic is over.
Plan on a full day as the schedule has us shooting until at least 3pm.
You may attend the classroom portion as a non-shooter and then observe the shooting portion of the day for a reduced $20 non-shooter fee.

Tentative schedule as follows:
7:15 Sign-in
7:30 Classroom session at hunters education clasroom
9:00 move to the rifle line
9:15 line goes hot. verify, correct and zero knobs at 100yds (5-10 rds)
10:00 open shooting time with instruction as needed
12:00 BBQ lunch break
1:00 open shooting time with instruction as needed
Some things to bring:
Precision rifle wearing a scope with target knobs, eye/ear protection, sunscreen, chamber flag, 80 rounds of match quality ammo, printout from a ballistics program showing your bullet drop in moa or mils as appropriate to your scope, shooting mat or blanket, bipod, some kind of rear bag or sand sock, small notepad and a pencil or pen to take notes.
Bring what you have, don't worry too much about what you don't have.
We always make do with what we have.
This is a
Precision Rifle event so if the gun/scope/ammo is not capable of shooting tight groups, it will detract from your overall experience at the shoot.
If possible, please have your rifle zeroed at 100yds and your knobs set to zero.
We will verify a correct zero at the shoot, but it takes time that is better spent putting rounds on targets.
RSVP's for CaPRC club members will be accepted after 12 noon on Monday 2/21.
RSVP's for non club members will be accepted after 12 noon on Tuesday 2/22.
Any RSVP's posted before those times will be ignored or deleted.
We are also looking for our experienced club members to show up and help instruct.

Depends on how many instructors on the line. 1 instructor per 4 students. 5 qualified knowledgable instructors will allow for 20 students.

I don't deal with the membership so I recommend you RSVP tomorrow right at noon with the rest of the non-members as your membership benefits don't officially begin until your name goes green.
That happens after your application is recieved and processed by the treasurer.

Arrrgh, stupid me for missing my reminder notice!

Thanks!

You will know before sunday
It might still benefit to drive out anyway. We usually have a few guys that flake last minute and you could fill their spots
I recommend to anyone wanting to participate in this class to attend even if your not on the list. You will still learn a great deal and can apply it at the range when you go back on your own sunday!
