Sac Valley March Madness Long Range Schedule & Info

Hey guys, Vu asked me to post this info for you Socal shooters.
Every March at Sac Valley we have "March Madness" put on by the High Power discipline. Basically a whole month of long range matches. The NCPPRC monthly LR match is not officially part of the March Madness, but if you include our match that means you can shoot long range almost every day but Mondays starting on March 5th and going to March 27. You can shoot as an individual, and there are also team matches.
You can shoot just one day, any combination of days, or all of them. Pre registration is best, but if you just show up on one day Mr O'Connell will find you a place on the line.
Jim O'Connell, the match director, has after discussions with Vu and myself agreed to have a separate class for Tactical Rifles if there are enough participants for that class. (generally that means a minimum of 3). So there will be 4 classes you can shoot in. Palma Rifle, F-Open, F-T/R and F-Tactical.
For those who are not familiar with the classes:
Palma Rifle - Iron sighted rifles, shot from the prone position with only sling support.
F-Open - basically scoped bench rest rifles of any caliber up to .35 cal, shot from the ground using front machine rests and rear bag rests (top shooters use dedicated single shot actions).
F-T/R - .308 Winchester and .223 Remington caliber scoped rifles, shot from the ground using only a sling or bipod and rear bag rest (top shooters use dedicated single shot actions).
F-Tactical - Your typical "Tactical" rifle, scoped, mag fed repeater action, using a bipod (and rear bag if desired), of any caliber up to .35 cal (NRA rules for HP events stipulate that as maximum caliber size), and muzzle brakes WILL be allowed.
Jim, as MD, has graciously given his approval to use muzzle brakes. But you must state on your registration and/or at sign in that you are using a muzzle brake so he can squad all those people together. If he has enough entrants he will give them their own relay for events. If not he will put them all at one end of the line to separate them from the other shooters. If you go to one of these matches please DO NOT forget to tell him you have a MB. Generally speaking the HP/Palma people are opposed to allowing muzzle brakes on the line, and if we abuse the opportunity Jim has given us we may never get it again.
If you shoot in one of the F classes you will shoot on the NRA F Class targets which have a 1/2 moa X ring at all distances.
One of the matches is a Any/Any match on Saturday the 26th. That means Any Rifle, Any Sight (that means scopes are ok). But you must shoot it prone with a sling.
You can shoot in F Class on all days as all practice days and matches are open to F Class.
Unless otherwise specified, all competitors will also pull targets in the pits. Some matches may have paid target pullers.
All match COFs include 2 sighter shots at each distance, some might have unlimited sighters (I'm not sure which). Typical COF will be 10 rounds + sighters, 15 rounds +sighters, or 20 rounds +sighters AT EACH DISTANCE.
If you have any questions about these matches either ask me, or post a thread at Calguns with March Madness in the subject line and Lane Buxton will see it and give an answer (he's the expert on this). Jim is mostly on the road from now till March and may not get any email in a timely manner to answer.
THE NCPPRC IS TRYING TO GET AS MANY OF THEIR PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO SHOOT ON MARCH 12/13 IN THE INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM MATCHES IN THE TACTICAL CLASS. Vu is also trying to gather Tactical Rifle people from out of state to come for the same days to shoot in the Tactical Rifle class.If any of you are thinking about coming up for just one or two days, those would be the days to do it. That we we can fill a whole relay with Tac Rifle shooters.

Any Rifle and “F” Class - stings are 20 for record – unlimited sighters.
Wed: Squadded practice – 1000 yds. (2 strings)
Thur: Folsom Club Match – 1000 yds. (2 strings)
Fri: 4 Man Team Match – 1000 yds. (2 strings)
Sat: Day 1 – 1000 yds. Any/Any (2 strings)
