Sniper Hide online training

So whats the People in the Know's thoughts on this program...I see when you sign up, you have to pay upfront for all the back lessons. When does it start again, so that I do not have to pay for back lessons....I see nowhere to ask questions about this...

Steve- I used to be a member of the online training back when it was only a 10 per month fee. Back then it was well worth the money to watch the videos, Frank and Jacob do a good job of explaining his fundamentals of shooting... plus there are lots of lessons and a private forum where you can ask them questions directly.

It seems now that the price went up so I can't speak for the value, though I have been thinking about rejoining.

$200 to start and $10 a month after that.

There is enough knowledge here in this club that there is no reason why you should have to go somewhere else for these classes. I will post a list of classes that may be beneficial to us. If anyonehas anything else to offer, feel free to post them. The majority of these classes I already have. Ill post a list here in a bit.

Seth makes a good point, there's nothing in there that you won't learn from hanging out with good shooters. The appeal is I can watch them while at work and take notes and absorb info so when I go to the range I can try out their suggestions.

It is certainly no substitute for trigger time.

There is no sub for trigger time. But you need the info so as to be practicing the right way. There is also nothing keeping us from doing videos as well. Not at all trying to down play the guys at Rifles Only, wealth of knowledge, but like I said before, there is also a group of guys here that have a wealth of knowldege, especially when you put them all together. Different methods, experiences, calibers, occupations, etc etc.

+1 spend a few hours hanging with some of the main players around here and you're bound to learn things you never knew. I advise everyone who is serious about learning to attend a few big matches or out of state monthlys. Get in on the carpool with everyone. You will learn tons on the ride there and be able to apply it all at the match when you get there. Im interested to see the SH online training but I sure as hell ain't paying that much for it.

Heres a list of possible classes that I can come up with off the top of my head. Some may be relevant to what we do, and some may just be cool things to know how to do.

Care and Cleaning of Your Rifle and Scope
Supported Shooting Positions
Unsupported Shooting Positions
Unconventional Shooting Positions
Trigger Control
Scope Sighting Techniques
Breath Control
Bone Support
Muscular Relaxation
Natural Point of Aim
Bolt Operation
Scope Adjustment Mils vs MOA
Effects of Wind
Effects of Altitude
Effects of Temperature
Effects of Humidity
Effects of Barometric Pressure
Effects of Precipitation
Data Book
Ballistics (to include)
Internal, External, and Terminal
Shooter/Observer Techniques and Dialogue
Techniques for Engaging Moving Targets (Holds and Leads)
Loading of the Bipods
Using a Rear Bag
Reading the Vapor
Reading Mirage
Range Estimation
Range Cards
Reloading
Techniques for High Angle Shooting

Most of these classes can be split into smaller subsections or combined. This is just a few that I could come up with, with very little thinking on my part. This before anything would obviously need to be cleared through the Club Leaders and I am by no means trying to rain on someone elses parade. All suggestions are more that welcome.

LOTS MORE!!! Could even throw in some Techniques of Camoflage, Stalking, Shooting From Concealed Positions, Camoflaging Gear/Rifles, Ghillie Suit Construction, etc etc. Some of it may not be useful to civilians, but who wouldnt want to know how to do it?

I'm not gonna lie... i think it would be fun to learn

...and before anyone jumps to conclusions. No i don't need to learn it for the zombie invasion. I just think it would be a lot of fun to try and learn from a man that knows what he's doing.

It would be WAY cool to learn fieldcraft (stalking, survival, hides) from someone of Seth's caliber, it's not often we would get to learn from a guy like him.

Count me in.

+1 but I was refering to the stalking, camo, hunting techniques. I would love to learn the fundamentals of marksmanship from someone like him just to compare to the techniques I employ myself but everytime I've watched military channel and seen the stalking segments, I've always thought it would be awesome to know how to do that kinda stuff. Im just intrigued by anything to do with our military though. A tour in iraq/afgan would thrill me. Id also love to take a 6mo tour on a carrier or sub just for the adventure of it. Even if I was only the dish boy. There's just something about being surrounded by all that coolness. Im all about the experience.

I swear I should have enlisted

Change of plans....no ghillie suit making or stalking. It takes to much time away from other stuff we should be practicing..........like the "side prone". jk

Alright alright.....This is what we'll do.

We'll build our ghillie suit, paint our rifle, stalk up to our target within 15 yds and shoot the 1/2" son of a bitch from the "side prone"!!!

That should keep everyone happy.

You guys are funny and I mean that in a good way.

You have an 8541 Instructor in the club. I would pick his brain day in and day out versus attempting to learn something via the net.
