Got my extractor fixed, gonna try and at least make it out to say hi for a little bit.
Random Q: Does anyone have a M1A Standard they might bring so I can check it out?

I've got an M1 Garand 30-06 you can try. Not what you're looking for but close.

By delicious do you mean pimped out tacticool? I've been tempted in the past but I can't bring myself to do it. Its got the extended magazine release made by Sadlak, the SEI bolt release, and a scout front sight since the Socoms factory sight covers a whole target frame at 100yds. If I had to buy one again I'd get the scout.
The Socom had extraction issues 6 of 10rds when I first got it. Springfields warranty service is awesome even though it was disappointing that I had to use it. They replaced the entire bolt and re-headspaced the barrel. I also got a new stock because I was unhappy with the finish on the original. It hasn't ever missed a beat since I got it back from them.

Haha nice, too bad you had all those issues at the start. I either want the Standard or Scout in the wood stock, nice and simple. Don't worry about bringing it for now, still trying to see if I can make it at all.

It was a lot of fun. I arrived late to the party due to my appointment with my Doctor, but I wasn't to far behind by the time I got there. I got my rifle re-zero'd, shot some poker chips and then some paper @ 200 and 300 yards. After that was transitions and positional and it was a great learning experience!
Thanks for all the help guys, it was a lot of fun.

Thanks to Randall, Henry, James, Charlie and Stephen for all the help and tips! ;)

Good day today guys....Always fun...One thing I noticed is that there were zero safety issue....That is always good to see....We started out with the correct position behind the gun and dry firing then off to zero. Everybody was able to get zeroed. Some people had elevation/windage adjustments that were as wide as 1 MOA per click

. Well, run what you brung so you better get good at holdovers

Once we got zeroed, everybody moved out to 200 yards and then 300 yards....Nathan's 175's out of his AICS managed to snap the littleman target frame in 2

. Still think those loads are going faster than 2458 :o . Then it was out to 300 yards...Dope was established and then everybody moved over to the little man steel...Charles and I were running the 1st four shooters and they were just nailing the little men at 300 yards....excellent job...then it was a break for the BBQ...thanks Charlie for cooking

Potato salad did not turn out as good as it did last time, sorry about that guys....then we moved into sitting positions...the proper position was demonstrated but as some people found out, you may have to adapt from that.... ;). Everybody did well and hope to see everybody out at the next one...Did everybody see the banner hanging off the rafters on the line....Looked good!!!
Overall, an excellent day...Finished up around 3pm

Thank you so much for letting me use it. Hopefully one day I will learn how to use it myself also!! Thanks again guys for putting this on. I know some of the groups we were shooting are not that spectacular compared to what you guys are shooting. But they feel good to us new guys. I know it would have taken a lot longer to get just to this point without all your guys help. Still a long ways to go but it should be a fun process!

LOL. Nope. These crappy Warne rings I have are allowing my scope to move around (Forward 1/4") and I have no other rings that will fit.Glen promised me new rings this week and I'm not shooting this gun anymore until I get them, I really don't want to damage my scope.

My advice to you is not to wait for Glen as it could be quite a long time.
Buy something else in the mean time.

Yep, i was waiting for months for my Seekins in 34mm high. It got to the point of shoot or wait and Charlie had some Badgers to let me borrow. They worked perfect and i ended up buying them from him and have never looked back. I do like the seekins but you'll be waiting longer then a week just as i did. Get some rings that work and get out and shoot!!

I've been waiting four months or so. Glen gave me his word. If I don't have them Friday I'll be getting something else.

Do the Warne Tactical Rings suck? I got two new sets waiting to be used..
I new favorite rings are the Badger Max50 ALLOY rings. Certainly not cheap though..

I have had very good results with Warne and will continue to use them.
They support the shooting sports in a very big way.
