Hi, new form member and potential club member. Please add me to the wait list and or observer list. Should have my gear squared by then but would like to observe if not. New to long range shooting but not to shooting in general and have found my best investment has always been quality training!

Thanks,

Jason

This might be unnecessary, but I wanted to do a PSA for some of the REALLY new guys who have no experience.

Make sure you have QUALITY rings/base, no airsoft junk, if you bring that to the clinic, you may end up wasting the day. if you can shake your scope and it rattles around on your rifle... you may want to fix that before the clinic.

Most guys shoot better off a rear bag. Mono pods tend to work best with rifles that have more weight in the rear like the desert tech bullpups

Rear bags are SO much faster and easier to adjust than monopods.

Can anyone recommend a local place to get a rear shooting bag and any particular bag? Had ordered one online and as luck would have it, it is lost in transit. Thanks.

I'm currently really liking the Red Tac bag, but the new SAP bags are also really great, Rich has both in stock so you should be set.

Quick easy cheap bag....

Take a tube sock- fill it with dry rice (best) or beans- get it down to the toes. Put in enough for roughly a softball size or a little less.

Twist the sock to hold the rice in the toes- and take the upper section of sock- pull it down inside out back over the sock. It will double up the sock fabric, and hold the twist.

You'll find this works very well especially with rice- it locks together nicely for a good solid platform- however you'll want larger lightweight rear bags in the future for different shooting positions and uses and terrain.

I still use my rice sock.

Be sure not to use a stinky sock.

For those of us who have never been, or otherwise don't know (myself included), where exactly is the Hunters Education Classroom in relationship to the main firing line where we normally have matches?
