The code did work, but it only brought it down to 127 a night for two queen beds. Still not that bad. Anybody who would like the info, you can shoot me a PM.

Also, I'm really sorry about the venue change, but it's totally going to benefit you guys. It's shaping up to be a really fun match. We're able to do a lot more at the new location as well. If any of you are NRA members, they have a discount code for the Days Inn in Buckeye (it's the closest chain hotel to the range) that knocks the price from $135 a night down to $100. Chronister has the code so you might want to get a hold of him if you haven't reserved accommodations yet.

The camping area closest to the range is less than a mile down the road from the facility. It's not very well traveled, and we'll have some RV's out there for the RO's who live elsewhere (like the east side of Phoenix or Chino Valley). You guys all know how to reach me, so if you need help arranging something let me know and I'll see what I can do to help.
Ouch... Then I will quit bitching...Image I am looking forward to the match...

A few updates as we get closer to the match:

1. You’ll need approximately 220 rounds for the match, we suggest to bring a little extra.

2. Shooters will be given the opportunity to squad themselves. Squad sign-up sheets will be at registration/sight-in on Friday afternoon. We reserve the right to balance squads if there are no-shows who leave one squad uneven.

3. Sight-in/registration will be from 12:00pm-5:00pm on Friday, March 20th. There are two side events on Friday. One is to familiarize shooters with the POF-USA ReVolt bolt rifle. The other side event is sponsored by Caracal. They are donating two CC10 9mm Carbine’s to the match. Winner of the side event will take one home. The second carbine will be on the match prize table.

4. NO ALCOHOL ON THE RANGE. We have been provided a fantastic facility. In exchange, we were given two rules to follow. This is one of them. If you’re caught drinking on the property, you will be asked to leave. End of story. We all enjoy a frosty adult beverage too, but wait until you have left the property.

5. Due to EPA restrictions, the other rule is about one of the washes on the range. An RO will be driving a hay wagon around to transport shooters from the EOD pit to the rifle range and from the pistol bays to the EOD pit. Do not cross the wash between the EOD pit and the pistol bays unless you are riding on the hay wagon.

6. Lunch will be provided both days courtesy of Caracal USA. Be sure to thank their representative, Jeff Spalding, when you see him.

7. Clear eye protection is strongly recommended for one stage. If you don’t have a pair of clears, we’ll have a few pairs handy courtesy of Voodoo Tactical.

8. You get to shoot a machine gun! Yay! If you've never shot one or are nervous about shooting one, let the RO on that stage know prior to your time on the clock.

9. All of the targets will be clearly marked with neon paint on the straps and orange or neon paint on the hangers. There will also be number/letter identifiers on or near the targets to help you locate them. If in doubt, ask the RO prior to starting. The targets themselves WILL NOT be painted.

10. There are 3 stage guns in the match (POF-USA is providing a full auto .223 and a ReVolt bolt rifle; Specialized Dynamics is providing one of their rifles). The ammo for these rifles will be provided.

11. There will be targets between 25 yards and 1400 yards. Plan accordingly in case you aren't able to verify DOPE at the range prior to the match.

12. We've reserved the patio and part of the bar at Native Grill in Buckeye (457 S Watson Rd) for Saturday night starting at 6:00pm. All are invited, but your tabs are your own to pay.

13. There are plenty of restaurants in Buckeye, Goodyear, and Avondale. If you have a question about a particular place, ask one of us. There are a lot of really good local places so if you’d rather skip the chain restaurants, ask Regina and she’ll direct you to a place that won’t give you food poisoning.

14. There will be a lot of shooting. Because of this, we’ll have a pretty strict time line. Be prepared to shoot when it’s your turn. Prep when you’re instructed to. Follow instructions. And have fun.

15. Finally, if something has come up and you need to back out of the match please let us know immediately so we can try and fill out the roster.

Thanks,

AZLRPRS

Would love if the did this match every year but they are on a two year rotation. Which is understandable based on the amount of work that is put in.

Ugh. work happened. Rich will go to Christies with you. When you get there please tell Cheyenne/Kim hello for me, ask how her occupational therapy classes are going and her youngest son's birthday (24 already!) was last tuesday, he should be getting out of jail next month so she'll be pumped up and might give you an extra lap dance. Also if you see Snowy/Lisa, she owes me $7.50 and two tabs of Adderall- I'll get it from you at the next shoot. And if you run into Coco/Pat be careful, I think 'she' is packing something extra (curtis told me he couldn't sit down for a week).

Good luck.

Wow... What a match... It was held at the Maricopa Sheriff's Training Range. What a facility. 2 large pistol bays, EOD range, Driving range, multiple rifle ranges and a shoot house. The AZLRPS members designed stages that challenged the shooter and yet were fun to shoot. I did not do well, but I still had fun, didn't hurt myself, didn't get DQ'd, didn't crash my car and didn't finish last. There were 84 shooters signed up, but some of them dropped out/didn't show up so I think there were 79 shooters with one of them only being 12 years old!!! There were 6 areas to shoot and 6 squads. It was really nice that you got to self squad yourself and then the squads were randomly picked by dice roll to start on the various ranges. You shot 4 areas the 1st day and 2 areas the 2nd day. Food was graciously supplied both days by Jeff Spaulding of Team Caracal. 1st day was burritos and the 2nd day was a full spread of Mexican food... Awesome food and thanks to Jeff. I was squadded with all of the CAPRC/SoCal shooters. There was Jeff Hall, Jennifer Toms, Danny Nguyen, Joe Villegas, Henry Garay, James Jeffries, Brandon McGaffey, Solomon Manansala, Keith Nelson, Ray Riganian and me. There were other shooters on our squad Oscar Milanes, Adam Williams, Matthew Brousseau and Paul Reid. The stages were fun, fast and exciting. Some of the highlights of the match were getting to shoot a machine gun... Full auto is ALWAYS fun, longest shot of 1365 yards, the Shoot House, and just hanging out with friends and meeting new people.

It was hot, not a lot of shade but there were easy ups at the areas that didn't have a cover and water at every single stage. The AZ crew also supplied electrolyte replacement additives for the water which was a nice touch, but stay away from the Refreshing Citrus (it was horrible)...

The prize table was awesome. Multiple rifles, certs and other shooting products valued at over $80,000.00.

This was my 1st match shooting the new Vortex Razor HD Gen II. It was crystal clear but I personally had problems finding targets. I carried a set of bino's with and would walk the stages and identify the targets but when it got to actually shooting the stage and finding the targets through the scope, I couldn't find them... This was all on me and not the scope. I made some other mistakes like intending to hold over for a group of targets and forgetting to do that and wondering why I was missing??? It was really nice for the long range stages not having to turn my knob more than 1 or 2 revolutions or having to worry what power I was on to figure out holdovers. I had no problems with the scope and am pleased with the purchase. I just need to work on finding the targets....

In the end, Solomon ended up finishing 3rd, James 11th, Matthew 13th, Paul 19th, Brandon 26th, Danny 29th, Oscar 30th, Ray 32nd, Henry 49th, Joe 52nd, Keith 53rd, Jeff 64th, Jennifer 67th and me 75th...

I would highly recommend everyone apply the next time the match opens up. I believe they are going to a every 2 year cycle. The AZ crew also hosts a awesome monthly match that is open to anyone and the 1st time shooter is free. The drive is about 6 hours and there are plenty of hotels by the range.

I didn't take many photos but there are about 100 match photo's on the TPRC Facebook page... Look them up and like them...

Awesome match. There were plenty of fun stages. My personal favorites were the shoot house, Lefty's revenge, and the KYL stage for all the shit talking you guys were doing. It was nice to see so many SoCal shooters in on event. Hope to do it again with you guys in 2 yrs. Make sure you guys thank the AZ crew for their hard work.

Yeah of course you liked lefty's revenge... That was an awesome run.. he was one of only 4 or 5 shooters to complete the entire COF and have time/rounds left to flip a rifle spinner...

Good job Solo....

Scores for the 2015 Tactical Precision Rifle Challenge presented by Patriot Ordnance Factory and STA Training Group:

We ended up with a prize table worth a little more than $86,000 according to Tim, who was our match director for this outing. A huge chunk of that was from one person, Bear Workinger who donated two lifetime memberships to Frontsight in Vegas that were each valued at $15,000. The rest of the sponsors who stepped up huge are:

Bear Workinger
Caracal USA
Desert-Tech
Drill-Tech
Gunsite Academy
JC Steel
JK Customs
Kelbly's
KMW Long Range Solutions
Manners Composite Stocks

Nightforce
Phoenix Custom Rifles

Original SWAT
PDC Custom

Shilen Rifles
Short Action Customs
Short Action Precision
Sierra Bullets
Specialized Dynamics
Storm Tactical
Team Triangle
Triad Tactical
UniqueTek

We'd also like to recognize Vinny da Hook at Invincible Gunsafes and Dave Butcher at Aroma's UnCorked for the awesome awards. Vinny made us some truly outstanding awards for 1st-4th place. Dave was able to hook us up with custom engraved Crown Royal bottles for the match winner, high law enforcement, high military, high female, and because we think no one should go home empty handed (or sober), last place (went to the competitor who actually shot all of the stages and not the person who dropped out).

Our media person was Michael Bonamico at Range Time Network. He should have video of the match completed soon including some incredible footage Sunday's Atlas Bipod stage which featured every competitor on the line at once.

Joe Comfort, Sin City Precision's master of propaganda graciously assisted us with advertising for the match and helped me tremendously in highlighting all of the sponsors.

We had 5 sponsored stages and one side match. The winners of those stages were:

Border Crossing/KMW Long Range Solutions - Tyler Frehner with 9 out of 10 hits
Storm Sewer Spinner/JC Steel Targets - Solomon Manansala
Lefty's Revenge/Short Action Precision - Marcus Blanchard with a clean run at 97.27 seconds (13+ seconds faster than the closest time)
Cajun Brainstorm/NorCal Practical Precision Rifle Club - James Jeffries with a clean run in 8.11 seconds
Caracal Side Match - Mark Quintana with a clean run in 12.61 seconds.
Atlas Bipod Stage - Jason Reber

Match Winner - Jake Vibbert
High LE - Jerod Sweesy
High Military - Shawn Hughes
High Female - Janae Frehner

Overall, we had 79 competitors, roughly 18,000+ rounds sent safely down range, no DQ's, and we finished pretty close to on time.

POF-USA let us shoot a machine gun and play with their new ReVolt rifle. Caracal USA provided the food both days (Mi Patio Mexican Restaurant catered). JK Customs provided the match shirts.

We're all beat but incredibly happy that everyone appears to have had a great time. Please email or contact the sponsors through social media so they'll continue to donate products and services to all of the precision rifle matches.

Before we forget, Chambered USA did an outstanding job with the CombatBet match coins they hooked us up with. One side had our match logo. The other had our humor. Here's a blurry snap shot of the backside Lowe Weidman designed and we submitted to Chambered:

As a side note, you guys and gals are always welcome at our monthly matches... once we find a new home. We were booted from the old range after a rigged election and massive change of the board of directors. We're currently looking at some properties on the west side of Phoenix Metro and hoping to find something we can afford and mold to fit our needs. In the meantime, we're considering rotating at a couple of facilities. Watch the AZ Long Range Precision Rifle Shooting facebook page for more details. If it's your first match with us, it is free.

Steven, the young lady is actually 14 years old and can correct for second round hits better than anyone I've ever seen. She just needs a better caliber.

Thank you all for the kind words. I'll be sure to pass them on to everyone. Please don't forget to thank the sponsors. I had 6 weeks to create that prize table and they all came through in huge ways. That's also why there were so many certs on the table.
