All stages will start from port arms.
When you fire the first round and start feeling the recoil.DirtRacer151 wrote:at what point does a 308 become a disadvantage?
So because of recoil a 308 shooter should get a medal? Put your purses down ladies!! Just don't ask me to out mine downAR15barrels wrote:

I guess my answer would be the .308 is our military's sniper round and it's what we would be using if we we practicing our skills in Afghanistan. I respect the .308 and ultimately what do we lose if we have the a Top .308 medal? It makes our shooters feel good about coming out with their sticks and trying their best. Nothing wrong with that.DirtRacer151 wrote:Mike.. I agree with you but at what point does a 308 become a disadvantage and at what point is it at no disadvantage? Really? I don't care if we keep top 308 but I feel like its just a glorified loser.
Mike.. nothing wrong with it. Just giving my opinion. If I was shooting 308 id be gunning for #1 and that's it!!MichaelV wrote:

Don't pat yourself on the back for shooting a 308. Im sure I can dig up a pic somewhere with 3 limbsaver recoil pads on your stock and many bruises on your shoulder covered in tears before you got your muzzle brake put on.brian01tj wrote:

It's funny how everyone likes to pretend the roots of our discipline is something other that what it is. I shoot precision because yes I am a weekend sniper wannabe. So is everyone else in this club.DirtRacer151 wrote: Mike.. nothing wrong with it. Just giving my opinion. If I was shooting 308 id be gunning for #1 and that's it!!

I say the entire club shows up to a match wearing ghillie suits we shoot our match like always but when we go check targets it has to be in the low crawl. All while someone records the rest of the range's reaction to it allbrian01tj wrote:

If the stages are going to start from high ready (which I think is a great idea for this March Madness Mixer Match), then what about also requiring the bipods to be folded at the start of the buzzer? It seems weird to me to have a match with high ready but with the bipod legs splayed out and ready. That feels gamed.AR15barrels wrote:All stages will start from port arms.

HUUUUGE +1 for a completely unsupported match no bags no head towels no gloved fists. Just your hand. I've never done it before but would be down for it.johnlee wrote:

It also seems weird to me to have a match with all stages starting at high ready, but also with rear bags on the ground and at the ready. That feels gamed too. How about NO rear bags or head towels or anything for this match? Just your hand also no gloves
I'm not proposing that all of our matches be shot like this. But this March Madness Mixer Match seems like a good time to have a mixer match with folded bipods, high ready, and no rear bags. Basically, the entire match would be a wildcard instead of just one or two wildcard stages. The videos for such a match would be really fun to watch too.
Mark runs his West End matches this way. Cant remember but gloves may be okJuice5610 wrote:

I love how your so quick to discount the abilities of a quad. Quads can corner twice as fast usually.. especially in flat corners with no berms or ruts for the bikes to use. There's not many times in the past 10yrs that i've ever been passed by a bike. In fact its fun when you get next to one on the track and the start riding all aggressively because they have something against quads. Many bikes have gone off berms end over end for trying to show me a wheel in the corner or square me off. Its funny because all the bikes that have ever gone up against a quad are easy to spot...they move out of the way when they see you coming lmao!!
I grew up from age 5 riding behind a dad in the desert that used to race hare scrambles and barstow to vegas races. Don't give me this "let's bring it to the desert where the real men ride" bullshit!! Ill take you on any surface you can think about.. natural or man prepped... 2 wheels or 4.

Deep irregular whoops are handled the same way on a quad as they are on a bike... hammer down and don't let off until it flattens out! There's a reason I have a few S&B scopes worth of suspension on my quad. While it may not be as fun to ride in the whoops as a bike it will surely get the job done. I usually prefer to hit the first whoop an jump the rest anyway. Its less work like that.ColdSteel wrote:
Aw, shit.. Someone better bust out the ruler.. This just turned into a dick measuring contest...![]()
Maybe I better not race you.. I don't want to get run off the track...
Really though.. I have a really hard time believing you can keep up with a bike through deep irregular whoops and other sorts of off camber riding...
Maybe your hat is on so crooked it's cutting off circulation to your brain. Hard to say.
Only one way to settle this one pilgrim...
Desert. Lets do it.
revalving your forks is much different then doing a total suspension swap on a quad. Its everything from replacing the front shocks to a-arms, swingarms, axles, steering dampeners, and all the heims/ uniballs. I paid cost for all my stuff. That's just the way it goes with quads. Just recently have the factorys decided to see the light and make production quads with decent shocks and a-arms.ColdSteel wrote:
A few S&B scopes?! You got snookered! They musta saw you coming from a mile away.. Well, you do ride a quad...
That kinda reminds me of some people that show up to the range with all the latest tactical gear, grey poupon rifle, kestrel, fancy drag bag... And still can't shoot.
I've got less than a grand tied up in my springs and valves.
Here.. Whatcha doin in October?/? Your wife gona give you time off to go play motorcycle with the boys?
