CaPRC match at Angeles 8/14/11

Post by AR15barrels »

The California Precision Rifle Club is proud to announce that our next match will be Sunday August 14th at the Angeles Ranges.
For details about the Angeles Ranges, see their website: http://www.angelesranges.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Image

Signups start at 7:00am and shooting should start at 8:15am when the line goes hot.
Please arrive at the left side of the Angeles rifle range no later than 7:30am to complete your waivers, sign-in and get assigned your shooter numbers.
Your shooters number is also your position on the line so please lineup accordingly.

This will be the 8th match of our 2011 points series.
Details about the points series are here: http://www.caprc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2175" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Match fee is $20 for Caprc members or $30 for non members.
The match fee also includes use of the range after the match is completed.
We usually try to finish by 1pm.
Bring 50 rounds of match grade ammo.
Be prepared to shoot as close as 10yds and as far as 600yds.
Be prepared to shoot from standing, kneeling, seated, prone and other improvised postions.
Bring a backpack to shoot off of for stages that don't allow a bipod.

This match is open to bolt action and semi-auto rifles from 223 up through 308.
A velocity limit of 3100 fps will be in effect to reduce damage to club-owned steel targets.
Bipods, slings, shooting mats and rear bags are allowed and recommended.
Chamber flags are mandatory and are available from the club if needed.

Can I use a Stolle Panda 6ppc in your match? It doesn't have a bipod, could I shoot it off a benchrest in the prone position?

You are going to want a sling on it.
Also, don't be afraid to get it scratched up shooting off the barricades, through ports etc...
Ideally, you want a bipod and a sand sock of some sort.
Fixed rests will probably be slow for you to transistion between multiple targets under a short par time.

She has now accepted another traveling assignment, so she is working every w/e.... Dam, now I will not be able to attend this months match, the DM match and several other matches.... I will be working on trades again.....

Ok, the steel is all setup and paper targets, signup sheets, scoresheets etc are all printed out.
We have 2 line officers and 4 helpers so the plan will be to run odd and even shooters as two groups just like we have done with 3 groups in the past.
This should keep the wait time to a minimum and you guys should finish up before noon tomorrow.

I'll be sitting at my buddy's wedding tomorrow wishing I could have gotten out of it to go shoot.
The loophole stage is gonna kick everyone's ass...

Well, I would probably rather sit through a wedding than shoot another loophole shoot like that. You're right. That stage was the biggest ass-kicker I have seen from you guys so far!

Thanks to Brad and everyone for running a great match. You all are a great bunch of guys to shoot with.

It was good meeting all of you guys today. Learned a lot even from just watching! Gonna have to try hard to make desert marksman. Wonder if the wife will buy the " its for business " excuse. ;)
