We have a big house on the water. Fishing off our personal pier, 15 guys are staying in it. Good times.
Match is going well it hot as hell with mirage so bad you can't see some targets on anything over 12 power.
Amazing how many great shooters have switched to Bushnell. You see a lot on the line.
Pistol stages are killing me.

You are leading the industry in change with your reviews and endorsements... Have fun, don't drink too much and don't worry about the pistol stages... Just focus on the front sight and press straight to the rear...

Match is running a bit slow. I am shooting so so.
Helo stage was fun today.
The house we are staying is is crazy. 15 of the too shooters all in one large house. We even have a 50 yard pier into the gulf. We are getting lots of fishing in.
Ray is not shooting the match. Not sure what happened to him.
Pistol is jamming and or staying locked back after every shot. Sucks as the hits are worth 20 points each. I am going to lose a few hundred points in the pistol stages alone.
It's very hot and humid with some of the craziest mirage I have shot in.
0 to 22 MPH winds
TV crews and Top Shot guys shooting the match too.

What pistol? Your thumbs riding/hitting the slide stop?

Glock 35. It has a custom trigger and gunsmith fit K&M barrel. It does not function correctly. I am not hitting the slide catch. It was cleaned and lubed and tried three different types of ammo.

Re: The Bushnell Brawl
Theres your problem
As a former Glock Armorer, most of my work was unfucking guns that were "fixed" and "Improved" with aftermarket parts. One easy check is to see if the slide stop spring is sitting properly. If its a newer 3 pin gun, if the slide stop spring is under the locking block pin (the skinny one above the trigger) the spring will act opposit of the way it is suppost to, locking the slide every shot. I'd be happy to check it out sometime if you want. I have new factory slide stop levers.

So what do you suggest for a slide stop if your thumbs are holding the lever down and not catching the slide on the last round??GforceJunkie wrote:Theres your problemAs a former Glock Armorer, most of my work was unfucking guns that were "fixed" and "Improved" with aftermarket parts. If i adjust my grip i can make it work but with a natural draw i hit it every time. I think i saw somewhere that someone made one that extended forward instead of backwards.
Also, what about trigger? Put a rocket in mine but it lacks the "invisible wall" before the break and i'm not so happy with it. Was looking at the fulcrum triggers as a possibility.

Re: The Bushnell Brawl
I know nothing of the aftermarket stuff other than throwing it away and replacing it with stock parts that always work
Sorry, not much help for the aftermarket stuff. Is your issue with the stock slide stop or some sort of extended one? I've put the stock non-extended on on several peoples Glock 34/35's
who had problems with riding the factory extended one. Absolute last ditch plan, I would cut off the lever, just leaving enough of an edge that you could lock the slide back with your fingernail, and just use an empty mag to lock it open for administrative purposes.

My stop is factory. It just happens to be right where the base of my support hand thumb wants to sit with a thumbs fwd grip.GforceJunkie wrote:I know nothing of the aftermarket stuff other than throwing it away and replacing it with stock parts that always workSorry, not much help for the aftermarket stuff. Don't know if this is the problem but one more thing to remember, even with a stock Glock, Don't limp wrist it. Drive the gun forward. Sure way to stovepipe is to shoot with a limp hand.

I can shoot a hand gun. I have never had an issue with a stovepipe or anything like that.
Team GAP custom 2011s will be ordered soon. That will be my next pistol.

Ended up 31st out of about 100 shooters. Ryan was 21st or something like that. Bryan was the top GA shooter in 6th.
Wade was the top shooter with 1800 points. I think I finished with 1210 or something close. A few zeros on the handgun stages at 100 points each hurt along with some poor shooting on a few rifle stages. Looking back if I was shooting well I think I could have placed in the top 10. I need more practice to shoot with the likes of Wade at this range.
