How often do you guys go shoot your rigs? I know some of you (Randall & Ryan) shoot almost every weekend but its mostly matches.
If you had to break it down to rounds fired per month in match and practice whats the ratio? Im trying to determine how much i need to get in to it with out burning out barrels super fast and burning up reloading components. Lately i've had a mentality of saving my rifle for the matches. It seems to be working out... no zero shifts yet, dope is usually spot on with my predictions but i feel the need to spend more time behind the trigger.
I shot my Sako Quad last week out to 200yds and made a bunch of pretend stages for myself inc. hold over stages and even dialing out the knobs as well (7.4mils to 205yds) Did a bunch of positional and some offhand. What i found is that its nothing near as hard to master as my .260. Even though the Sako is heavy for a 22lr (McMillan has sniper fill) is still no comparison to the Premier tank and the truck axle for a barrel i have on the .260.
In short, if we could shoot prone all the time this would be easy
I need to devise a training plan per month thats not going to waste my barrel in 2mos ... what works for you guys?
