The California Precision Rifle Club is proud to announce that our next Tactical Precision Rimfire match will be Sunday November 2nd at the Angeles Ranges. For details about the Angeles Ranges, see their website: http://www.angelesranges.com Signups start at 8:30am and shooting should start at 9am. This month we will be shooting on the private Eagle's Nest range D. From the main parking lot, take the road on the left, go past the Gun/Reloading store, past the shotgun range and turn right after fort angeles. Head up the steep hill to the Eagles Nest. Range D is the 4th range which will be back down the hill past range C. Park in the downhill dirt parking area (not on the range) and walk back up to range D. Please arrive no later than 8:30am to complete your waivers, sign-in and get assigned your shooter numbers. Your shooters number is also your position on the line so please lineup accordingly. Please note that we will be in the sun all match (no overhead cover) unless people can coordinate to bring shade covers, bring fluids to drink and sunscreen. Also, the entire range is dirt, be sure to bring a shooting mat, moving blanket, or other ground cover if you don't want to lay in the dirt all day. Match fee is $10 for Caprc members or $30 for non members. We will finish by 1-2pm but we have the range for the day so a BBQ and practice session is also possible. Bring 100 rounds of ammo minimum, suggest 150-200 rounds as you will have time to confirm your zero. Be prepared to shoot as close as 10yds and as far as 100yds. Be prepared to shoot from standing, kneeling, seated, prone and other improvised positions. This match is open to bolt action and semi-auto rimfire rifles in .22 lr caliber only. No Hyper velocity ammo, match grade target ammo recommended. Bipods, slings, shooting mats and rear bags are allowed and recommended. Chamber flags are mandatory and are available from the club if needed. Observers are welcome! Line helpers are always needed! If you are planning on attending to just watch and not shoot, please volunteer to be a line helper. Duties may include: Helping stapling and placing targets, keeping score, and spotting. Its a great way to get up and close to the action and see whats its all about. Line helper RSVP's will be accepted anytime. CaPRC Member RSVP's will be accepted anytime. Non-Member RSVP's will be accepted anytime. Please RSVP by posting something very definite in this thread such as "I am in to shoot" or "I will be there" as we will ignore "maybe" or "if" RSVP's. If you RSVP and later figure out that you can't come, please post that as well so we can keep the RSVP list current. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can ensure we print out enough targets. Walk-ons will be accommodated if we have enough targets. Our 10/22s don't have bipods, so didn't know if that would be a problem. |

You'll need bipods, it's pretty similar to our centerfire monthlies as far as positions, just short range and mostly paper. The Harrise's on your current rigs should work fine on the 10/22. |

Late entrant coming. Got let off the hook by the wife. Hopefully there will be an extra setup for me. If not I'll have to trundle home and do all the stuff I have on my honey do plate. So I'm in to shoot unless told otherwise. |

The match was cool, Thank you for the fun. I learned a few things. Change back to my sitting position and away from kneeling. Learn the scope on the rifle I was consistently 3 moa high at 25 yards and 5 at 50 yards. Add a second nub up front to allow the qucik addition and removal of a bipod. Work on dots once the scope and bipod are set. |

This was only the 2nd match I have ever shot and I'm really glad I went. I got up early but putzed around going back and forth trying to decide if I wanted to do it or not.... since I knew my .22 plinker wasn't up to snuff. Bottom line, I had a really fun day and most importantly for me it was a great learning experience. Thanks to Randall, Rich and Henry for running the gig and for the info, advice and help. I have a 10/22 in jail, which I plan on dialing out. I really wish these rimfire comp's happened more often than they do. Congrats to the winners and nice meeting some of you for the first time and seeing those of you I know, again. |
